3rd Person POV:
Jericho leans back against muddy foam board, fingers swiping across phone screen. He looks relaxed, not quite diving into whatever he is doing on his phone but not quite fully aware of his surroundings either. Claire is nowhere to be seen. Out from the ruins of an old hut turned scavenged shelter, Silent Shadow steps out, pulling a trap disguised as a tree canopy over the entrance. She spares a glance at Jericho before going to take off. Jericho looks up before saying: "Where you going?" Silent Shadow takes a moment to pause and stare at him, a long aching minute passes before she finally speaks;
"I am taking an hour train ride to Portugal. I will be back by tomorrow."
Jericho knows better than to ask anymore questions, instead nodding and watching her take off.Much of the train ride was uneventful, only garnering a few glances and one security check aimed at Silent Shadow. Much of the city of Algarve's people's were much too consumed in their lives to notice her existence, something Silent Shadow contemplates every time she goes into a city. However, she did not have time to dwell. The gates to the train opened with a swish, passengers immediately rushed out, her among them.
Glancing around, her extensive knowledge of foreign bylaws and travel experience gave her little to no qualms. Furthermore, she had previously researched her route, making the trip easygoing. With this preparation in mind, she was also ready for a security guard to begin following her, and was satisfied with her prediction skills when they did."Hey! You there!" The guard's voice was feminine but body type taking a masculine edge.
Silent Shadow looked towards the voice, slowing only slightly. People around her either scurried out of the way or stopped to stare. This kind of attention always made her choice of appearance a disadvantage, but, she would rather deal with it than be identified. She thinks fast, knowing the guard would be one to get impatient with a lack of response. "What can I do for you?" She asked looking plainly at the security guard.
"Sorry, sir. I need to be able to see your eyes." The guard said as he looked at Silent Shadow's unfazed look through her visor. Silent Shadow hummed in thought before replying; "Face shields are obligatory, correct?"Silent Shadow inquires. She doesn't not care for his answer, already formulating her shortened down speech regarding recent happenings. "Since June 9th, no." The security guard replied. (Oh this poor security guard doesn't even know...) She thought as she thought of the next thing she was going to say.
"It was declared that masks were no longer obligatory in outdoor spaces, as you should know. However, the same is not to be said for enclosed public spaces... and when social distancing cannot be maintained. My face shield is worn to protect myself. The new strand is not to be taken lightly, am I correct?" She asked cooly while glancing outsife at the scenery waiting for the train guards response.
The guard took a few seconds to think over what was just said, before finding themselves unsure what to say next. Silent Shadow growing weary of his prattle and wanting to continue with her mission fished her ticket out as the guard scanned it with his barcode scanner. "Alright your all good to go." he said as he sauntered down to the next passengers.
Shadow happy with him leaving, slowly picked up the pastel de natas from her plate. Her officer B-012 said that this is a ethnic treat. She hummed looking at it curiously before taking a nibble out of it. Her eyes widened at the taste as she snacked more on her treat.
About an hour and a half later, she arrived into the bustling town of Algarve watching the public with a watchful and calculating eyes. - - - -
Now that she is finally allowed to fully hide her face without conflict, she'd begun to enter public spaces more frequently. She quickly made her ear through the train station as she hailed a cab to her Sparklings base. Silent Shadow managed to get the password to the gated base from her friend as her taxi drove her quickly to get destination.
