Ashley's POV

I was running through the forest, branches whipped across my face that drew blood. Somebody was chasing me... Or something. I didn't know what I was running from, all I knew was that I had to get away from them.

I could hear twigs snapping from behind me. It wasn't far behind, this thing was fast. Curiosity had gotten the best of me, and I risked a quick glance to see who or what it was. Except when I turned my head over my shoulder, there was nothing there. It was gone.

I stopped in my tracks, and spun around once, checking the area around me. Where did it go? Was it hiding? Silence filled the forest, and all that could be heard was the owl in the tree, just above me. My eyes scanned the tall trees that surrounded me, there was still no sign of any movement.

Thinking I was safe, I rotated back around to get out of here. However, when I did, I came face to face with a greyish coloured wolf. His teeth were on show, as his mouth was pulled back in a snarl. He growled, viciously and creeped closer to me. This made me back up, causing me to fall over on a log that wasn't there before.

I clenched my eyes shut, as I waited for the gnawing, and the tearing of my flesh. Except it didn't come. I opened one eyelid.

The wolf was just standing there, his head tilted to the side in a curious manner. He was no longer growling, but he was still creeping closer.

I don't know why I was doing it, but I reached out to stroke his head. The sudden movement made him back up a little. Why was he scared of me? Wasn't he just about to rip me into pieces? I should be scared of him, right?

His blue eyes looked so familiar. I just couldn't think where I had seen them before. He was staring at me, intensely, like he knew me or something.

The wolf threw his head back, and howled.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

What was that noise? I peeled my eyes open, and slammed my hand on the alarm next to my bed. It was all a dream, it felt so real.

My phone chimed from my bedside table, signalling I had a text.

*SOS- Caroline*

I called her, as soon as I had read her message. She picked up on the second ring.

"Ash! Thank God your up, I need your help."

"Caroline! what's wrong? Are you hurt?", my voice was frantic.

"Tyler bailed on me to play slave for Klaus. I can't clean all this mess up from the party last night by myself... And I was hoping you'd maybe take pity on me, and drive down here to help."

Really?! I thought she'd been kidnapped, or tortured, or something!

I sighed, heavily. "Yeah, sure. I'll be there soon."

"Great! Did I mention how much I love you? Well I do", I could practically hear her smiling, through the phone.
..........

I stepped into the school gym to find nobody was in here. Where was Caroline? She was probably out in the back, throwing away some trash. I decided to get started, and picked a few ribbons that were left on the floor, tossing them into a plastic bag. By the time I filled my first bag of trash, A shrill scream echoed through the walls. Caroline! I dropped everything, and sped through the school halls.

"Caroline!"

Another tortured scream rang out, but this time it was closer. I raced around the corner, and looking through all the doors until I found Caroline. She was sitting at a front desk, her hands held down to the table with pencils. She looked awful, who would do this to her? My unspoken question was answered when my eyes met Mr. Saltzman, our history teacher. Wasn't he supposed to be dead?
