Ashley's POV
Klaus lay Elena down on the drinks table, and cautiously moved closer. He noticed my rough state, and his eyes shot to Iva. A small wrinkle appeared between his eyes, "You look familiar. Have we met?"
Iva's shoulders sagged in disappointment, sadness filling her eyes. "You don't remember me?", She barely whispered.
"Should I?", he answered.
Ouch, that couldn't have been easy to hear, from the guy you were still in love with.
"Well, we were in love once, Klaus", she stepped closer to him.
His eyes flickered to mine, then back to hers, in a millisecond. "Forgive me, there have been a lot of women who have come and gone in my life. If we're finished here, I'd like to take Ashley, and my doppelgänger, and get the hell out of here." He gestured with his head, signalling me to follow, but Iva caught my arm.
"She isn't going anywhere."
Klaus tilted his head, in humour, "And why is that?"
"She's helping me out with a little spell", her eyes had gone all hard, challenging him.
"Well, I'm in a rush, perhaps some other time", Klaus wrapped his hand around my wrist, and pulled me away from Iva.
Before we could take another step further, we both fell to our knees, clutching our heads in pain.
"I'll decide when you leave", Iva stood over us, glaring down at Klaus.
She must be a very powerful witch to hold Klaus down. What the hell had we gotten ourselves into?
"What is it you want, witch?", Klaus grunted from beside me.
"I want the bond between you and your mate to end, it's what's best for all of us."
Klaus chuckled, "My mate? And who might that be? Please, do tell!", he feigned innocence.
"Of course, you don't know yet, right?"
Klaus' face fell, slightly, noticing the seriousness of Iva's voice. Iva glanced over to me, making Klaus do the same with confusion swirling in his eyes. "Do you want to tell him, or shall I?"
I huffed, having enough of the same, silly conversation, "She thinks we're supposed to be "mates", or something", I rolled my eyes.
"That's absurd", Klaus whispered, not sounding too sure of himself.
"I know, but it's true", Iva spoke up. "I need to break that bond before you guys trigger it in someway." Iva busied herself with her props, preparing for the spell to begin.
"I don't have time for any petty games, you wish to play, witch," In a nanosecond, Iva had been knocked out by Klaus, and lay in the middle of the gym hall.
"Let's go", he impatiently dragged me over to where Elena stood, and threw her over his shoulder. Still holding my hand, he vamp sped away, leading us to his mansion.
"Elena is still human, she'll be needing medical attention. I'll get her a nice nurse to look after her", he replied, but I wasn't buying it. There was something in it for him, he couldn't even look me in the eye.
"Really? I don't buy it", I crossed my arms.
"I don't care", he smirked. "Now, do you think you could wait here, while I get Elena a nurse?"
I turned my head away from him, and didn't answer. He knew I was pissed, however, he just laughed, lightly, and carried Elena away, and into an upstairs bedroom. "Wait here", he called over his shoulder.
