When we arrived back at Mycroft's office someone treated my face. Anthea was asking me constantly what happened, Sherlock told her his deductions. And that's where things got messy. Because Sherlock shared his thoughts. Why I hesitated in the first place, and that my nose was broken on purpose. That it was calculated.
"We won't get a word out of her, are you sure?" Mycroft asked in a hushed tone, but I heard perfectly. They didn't even bother to leave the room.
"No."Good. He couldn't prove anything, anyway.
"I'm here, you know. Just talk to me." I suggested. But they wouldn't leave me alone so easily.
"Well then, explain yourself." That wasn't what I expected. He usually asks the right questions to get his answers. "What for? That it was me against a group of Moriarty's men?""No. Something must've happened when the Sniper arrived. Mycroft heard you swear." Oh. shit. Okay, that was my mistake.
"They used sign language and a formation I didn't know. It irritated me. And I only saw four, but Mycroft said they were six." Both Holmes shared a look. "So you're not involved?"
"Of course not. I only just started this job!" And moved in with two criminals. By accident. But he doesn't have to know. Sure, he would figure it out sooner or later. Hopefully later.
"Your actions were irresponsible. You will stay in the office." Mycroft snarled. "And no missions until your unit chief says you can.""Fine, can I go now?" There was no point in arguing. It would probably make things worse. "Yes. Charles can drive you to your Hotel. It's late."
"No, I'll call a friend."
"What friend?" Mycroft laughed. Why couldn't he keep his mouth shut for once ?
Ignoring my boss's remark, I dialled Sebastian's number. Everyone watched me curiously. As if they knew that I wasn't good at making friends.
"Solar?" Sebastian asked quietly. There was Jim's voice in the background. He was yelling.
"Yah, hey. Am I interrupting?""No. Jim's just a little overexcited. What's wrong ? Did Holmes kick you out?" I snorted and glanced at Mycroft. Sebastian really thought he could do that.
"No, but I could use a ride home. I'm done here.""On my way. Big Ben?" Clever.
"Yes. Thanks." I hung up and grabbed my bag to leave. But of course Mycroft wasn't done just yet.
"Home ? You moved into a flat share?" Oh shit. Did I say home ? "Uh. No... I made friends with 12A, my neighbour. I'm flat 12B." His face Immediately told me that he didn't believe me. What means that he would stalk my ass until he found out. "Of course. I'll see you at 9."
Sure he would. Stupid prick.
I left without another word and rushed out of the building. Today was a mess. And I just ruined my future.
I can't even quit without getting a shit feedback.-
"Don't get to close. She'll notice." A quiet voice from behind me yell whispered after some minutes. It was John.
I almost reached Big Ben and the detective duo followed me. I couldn't believe him.
Without turning around, I walked a little faster until I found the black jeep. Time to test their endurance.
With a small smirk on my face, I started to run. From my experience I knew that Sebastian was looking for me, so I told him with a wave of my hand to turn. He quickly picked up on my idea.
Whilst running and switching the sides, I threw Sherlock a glance to let him know. He really tried to catch up. Pathetic.Sebastian stopped abruptly to let me in, but didn't wait until I had my door closed. It was hilarious to see Sherlock stomping his foot.
"He chased after you, what the hell happened ?" Sebastian laughed. But I wasn't in the mood.
"It's not as funny as you think it is." I snapped, he threw me a worried look. "I just need a minute to wrap my head around it."
When we arrived ten minutes later, I hesitated. This was such an awkward situation. I was living with a criminal mastermind. The most dangerous man in this country.
"I'll order some pizza?" Sebastian asked carefully, ready to leave me alone. I nodded in confirmation and watched him walk to the door. Jim opened the door for him and both man looked into my direction. He was probably planning my execution by now.
The thought was just an addition, but it made me laugh. I was never the best in coping bad situations well. That's why my laughing quickly changed into crying.
"That stings." I told myself, wiping my tears away.
I almost forgot about my damaged face. The pizza guy arrived twenty minutes later. He gave me a weird look because I still sat in the car all by myself.
I felt stupid and decided to go in. No point in dragging it out, right ? Taking the keys I got out of the car and up to the front door.
"He run after her ?" I heard Jim ask when I opened the door. "Yah. She was on the bridge to crying." Nice. They were talking about me.
With a clenched jaw I banged the door shut and run all the way through the house and up into my room. Sebastian was bloody pitying me. I should be the one to pity him. He was the fucking killer after all, not me.Urgh. Angry about everything I tucked on my clothes. I still wore my uniform and blades on me, it was awfully uncomfortable.
Flinging the blades and vest into the corner I changed into my PJ's and a blue kimono, humming my favourite song aggressively. It always helps me calm my nerves.
Singing silently I went to my bathroom to check on my face. It wasn't patched up correctly and the cuts were bleeding again. Probably from my changing, but it didn't matter right now.
I left my room with a sigh and slowly made my way downstairs. Sebastian and Jim still sat at the counter, talking and eating pizza.
"Better, princess?" Sebastian asked whilst holding the chair out. My cheeks began to heat up and I knew I would blush. He never called me pet names, or sat next to me. He always sat next to Jim.
"No. But I'll use the next five year to cry in my office."
I sat down and opened my pizza box, avoiding Jim until I figured how to accept the situation.Sebastian ordered Hawaii. My favourite.
"What do you mean?""It means that I'm not allowed to do my Job." I yelled out of frustration. "But he's right. My actions were irresponsible, I am trained to follow orders....."
"Some of us can't in some situations." Sebastian tried and I recalled our talk. What he told me about his army days.
"I know."
