Marvin the Martian #7

 "But (y/n), so we HAVE to go to the beach?" Your boyfriend, Marvin, complained.

"Come on Marvin, I've been waiting this day for too long" you replied as you dragged him by the hand across the beach.

 "But what is there even to do in a place like this? Stare at sweet nothing?"

" not sweet nothing, sweet golden sand, clear blue skies, children laughing and having fun and just generally relaxing"

 "Hmm, I see" he said.

 "Here's a nice spot here. I packed a picnic for us" you smiled lovingly.

 "Oh goodie!" He cheered as you both sat down.

You opened the basket and took out what you had prepared. Sandwiches and cakes and some water. A little bit of salad and some other stuff.

You both ate the food and felt content afterwards. You noticed his mood changed considerably after he was full.

 "That was exquisite, (y/n). Now what else would you like to do today?" He asked.

 " Oh, thank you! Hmm, we could go and look for seashells or go rock climbing"

"Rock climbing? Whatever do you mean?" He looked confused when you said this.

 "I'll show you, come on" you said as you got up and grabbed his hand. You walked with him to the other side of the beach to where there was large rocks.

 "Come on Marvin, let's get climbing!" You said excitedly.

 "But I didn't bring my mountain boots!" He exclaimed .

 "Well we're not climbing a mountain" you chuckled. "Only some rocks, grab my hand"

He grabbed your hand and you helped him up onto a rock. As you two climbed, the rocks got bigger and bigger until you gradually reached the top"

"Wow" you sighed. "What a beautiful view"

" You have a point. It is rather nice from this view" he agreed as you both say down and watched everything for a few minutes.

"Come on" you said eventually. "Let's get off these"

" alright then "

and with that you both hopped down the rocks until you both got lower and jumped down on the warm sand.

 "Well that was fun" he didn't have a mouth but you could clearly see he was happy.

 "It was! Wanna look for seashells now?"

 " if you wish" 

The beach was a lot quieter now as you both searched the shores for shells.

 "Ooh, here's a pretty one" you smile widely as you pick up a lovely big seashell.

 "But so is this one!" He picked up another lovely she'll and gave it to you.

 "Thanks Marvin, you're a sweetheart"

 He was blushing like anything when you said this. "Here is something for you" he said as he bent down and picked up something before giving it to you.

You took it in your hands and looked at it. It was a heart shaped stone, very beautiful.  Oh Marvin! Thank you! That's so sweet" you said. You then leaned closer to him and kissed him softly on the cheek.

He didn't know what to say after that.

"Say, wanna get some ice cream?" You offered.

" If you insist" 

It was now evening and while maybe a lot cooler than it was earlier, was still bright and warm.

"Two cones please" You said as you bought two cones for Marvin and yourself before sitting down near the sea and enjoying your cones.

 You both just say there quietly as you ate your ice creams and gazed upon the sparkling blue water.

 "(y/n)" he said, eventually breaking the silence.

"Yeah?"

" today has been, what one might call a perfect day"

You turned your head around when he said this. "Yeah, I guess so"

"Yes. And what's a better way to end a like this than like this?" He said before approaching you and gently touching your face and kissing you.

You smiled.  "Today really had been a great day"

"It has"

"Would you like to try some paddling before it's over?"

" would i? " 

You both tried some paddling before going home to watch a movie to end that perfect day.
