{Donnie's p.o.v.}
I groaned and rolled over, feeling around for my phone. The constant beeping was getting really annoying. What could it be at this hour?
I leaned one elbow on my pillow and blinked a few times to get the sleep out of my eyes. I looked over at my nightstand and saw my phone was under my mask. I brushed it aside and picked up my phone, squinting at the bright screen. When I finally focused, I saw that the silent alarm I set up in the lab had been activated!
Now fully awake, I sat up and grabbed my bo staff. I shut off the alarm and slowly opened the door or my room. I glanced at the doors to my brothers' rooms. Should I wake them up?
I shook my head to myself. Nah, what if it's just a rat or something? The guys would be mad at me for waking them up for that.
Just incase it was an intruder, I went into ninja mode and silently made my way to the lab, staff in hand.
I froze when I saw that the door was open, and I heard papers being russled around. I was about to go back and wake up the guys when I heard a muffled sob come form inside the lab.
Curious, I crept up to the door and slowly peeked around the edge. I could make out a figure standing by my desk, but it was hard to tell who it was in the darkness. From the form I could tell that the figure was female, but it couldn't be April. What if it's K-
The figure moved and I caught sight of what looked like a tail. My eyes widened as I also spotted a pair of ears on top of the figure's head. I gasped at my realization. No, it couldn't be.
The figure turned around fully and I saw she had a canister of mutagen in her arms. The glow of the mutagen shed some light on the figure, enough for me to see her fully. It was her!
"Sonny!" I cried in joy.
I dropped my staff and stepped fully into the room. I was on the verge of tears of joy upon seeing her, "I can't believe it. Sonny, I thought I'd never see you again! Where did you go? How are you feeling? Why did you cut your hair? I have so many questions, but I'm just so happy you're here!" I advanced toward her with open arms. But she just stood there, frozen, clutching the canister in her arms.
I stopped and looked her up and down, taking in her appearence. Her fur was clinging to her body, her short hair framing her face. Her ears flat against her head in what I assumed to be fear or embarresment and her tail was curled around her leg. In a word, she looked terrible. With weeks of isolation, who knows what state of mind she's in! What could she want with the mutagen though? She wouldn't use it on herself would she?
I decided to proceed with caution, "Sonny, please, put the canister down. You know how dangerous it is."
She didn't respond. She just held onto it tighter, like I was asking for her child, and backed away towards the garage.
I started panicing, afraid she'd bolt out the door. "I just want to help you, Sonny. Please! Please, don't leave me again!" I begged.
She stopped and looked me in the eyes. Her beatiful green eyes looked tired and sad, like she wanted to say something but didn't have the strength to do so. She shook her head and kept backing away until she was at the door. She looked at me again and mouthed 'I'm sorry' before dashing into the shadows.
"No, wait!" I cried and ran after her, "Don't leave!"
I ran out of the lair and sprinted after her! I followed the faint glow the mutagen was giving off and the sound of her paws hitting the water as she ran.
"Please, Sonny, come back!" I cried desperately.
The sound of her running stopped and I pushed myself further. I just caught a glimpse of the tip of Sonny's tail as she disappeared onto the surface.
