Damn it. 

Third Person P.O.V.

For the first time in his entire existence, he didn't expect that he would end up waking up late. Well probably because he's in a state of having a leave at work.

Levi glanced at his phone.

One message from Erwin Smith.

His 6 footer (or more than that) friend is probably having lunch break already, so he decided to give him a call instead of checking out his text message.

"Good afternoon to you, Levi. Have you seen my text?"

"I didn't."

Silence can be heard at the other side of the line.

"Fine. I called not because of your text." I called because I'm jealous that you get to work normally in the law firm. Levi thought as he continuously lay on the bed.

"I get it. You miss going to work."

With that statement, Levi believes that his best friend is currently developing some mind reading techniques or starting to become a prophet. Or probably he's a time traveler. Nada.

Am I that obvious that I wanted to go back to the law firm? Levi thought as he started to sit in his bed.

"Look, Levi. We're not sure if it's okay for you to go back. Especially if those headaches were on and off for you." Erwin said.

This guy was right. It's been just a few days when the leave started and yet I'm starting to disregard it. Well, Professor Pixis even suggested it so I guess this is a sign not to be workaholic. 

"I understand. Enjoy your lunch break then-"

"Wait, wait don't hang up yet. Have you eaten your lunch?"

"Erwin are you my mother?"

"Levi, your mother is asking my mother to tell me to check out on you as well. So basically no I'm not your mother yet your mother had a word with my mother. Did you get it, Levi?"

Damn, I forgot how my mother is pretty worried yet paranoid at the same time. I wondered how Mrs. Smith reacted to her?  

"Fine. I just woke up." 

Silence. But with Erwin Smith, there is a response after a few moments of silence. 

"Well, it seems that it's a good thing." 

Huh, what's a good thing with not eating two important meals? Did he forgot what he just said earlier? He thought. 

"As you can see, I haven't eaten lunch yet."

"Erwin, who cares if you haven't eaten lunch yet. It's your fault that during breaks you don't-"

"Even Hange hasn't eaten lunch yet."

Did he hear it right? Out of all things and people, why does his best friend mention Hange all of a sudden? 

"Oi, Erwin. That's a sign that you need to eat. You're even mentioning other people. As if-"

"-we're close? That's what you're going to say right?" 

If this person was not a friend and a family friend, he might ended up ditching Erwin Smith at a nearby desert. If only Erwin Smith knew how he looked like when he said what's on his mind. 

Laughter can be heard from the other line. He thinks his friend is doing something weird again, but decided to shrug it off especially since he feels embarrassed. Like he was caught up for doing something that needs to be kept hidden.
