It had been a week since Deena met Sam and she hated her more than she hated school and that was saying something. Everything about her was so perfect, Deena hated it. She was surprised to find out that the girl hadn't become popular yet. Everyone at school stopped acknowledging her after the third day when she wouldn't talk to anyone.
It was a bit strange to Deena but she didn't care. All she wanted was for school to be over. Fortunately and unfortunately it was the weekend. Simon and Kate were busy babysitting and that left Deena with nothing to do. She sat in her room staring at the wall, her mind was blank.
The brunette had been sitting the same spot for the past three hours barely moving. "Deena! Get out of your room. If I can do it so can you." Her brother shouted from somewhere in the house. When he received no response he went to her room and opened the door. "Deena are you okay?" The girl didn't respond.
Josh moved closer to his sister, crouching down and waving a hand in front of her face. "Deena." He drawled out. Deena continued to start at the wall. The boy sighed and moved even closer to get a good look at her eyes.
"Boo!"
Josh flinched back accidentally falling, "Ahh Jesus Christ!" He screamed out. Deena burst into laughter. "What the hell was that for?"
"It was for fun because I'm bored and having nothing to do but to lay in bed all day." She breathed out as she stood up. "Anyways I'm going for a walk, bye!"
He stared at her in confusion, "Since when do you go for a walk willingly?"
"Since now, see you later!" The brunette shouted already more than half way out the door.
"Fucking weirdo." He sighed, a smirk coming to his face. The best idea popping into his head. "This is going to be fun." The boy's hands rubbed together in excitement.
It had only been a few minutes since the tanned brunette left the house and it was killing her. The weather was hotter than she expected it to be, but nonetheless the walk was rather calming.
"Hey." A voice piped up beside her, momentarily scaring her. She let out a squeak in surprise.
Turning her head to her left, she was met with a familiar face. "Hey." The brunette said hesitantly raising an eyebrow in questioning.
"How are you?" The person smiled at Deena.
"I was good until you got here." Deena murmured before quickly putting on the best smile she could pull. "I'm doing amazing. How about you?" The brunette's voice dripped in sarcasm that the blonde beside her either didn't catch or didn't care.
"I'm fine, just trying to escape from my mother. She's quite annoying." The smile never left her face as she spoke but her eyes on the other hand darkened slightly.
The brunette raised an eyebrow, "Why is that?"
An unreadable look came to her, "She's been pestering me about something."
Deena's curiosity peaked and she couldn't stop herself, "What exactly is that something?"
The blonde shook her head, her smile returning. "Nothing, anyways I assume you're probably walking because you're either bored or going somewhere."
The brunette looked at her in surprise, "I'm walking because I'm bored, how'd you know?"
"Posture, it's because of your posture." Sam corrected before continuing, "Your shoulders are slightly hunched. If you were in a rush you'd be walking a little faster. Also the way you're walking now is about the same as when you walk at school."
"You watch me walk in school?" Deena questioned teasingly.
"N-no, I just have good eyes." The blonde blushed.
"Mhm sure. If you say so." The brunette replied tauntingly. "How is it similar to the way I walk in school."
Sam hummed, "In school you're a little more tense but your eyes are a dead giveaway that you're bored. You walk slow during school but your shoulders are up." Her head turned back to face the girl beside her and she smiled again.
Deena rolled her eyes, "Why do you smile so much?" It came off a little more cruel than she meant it to but it got her point across.
"It's just a habit." She replied.
"That came off a little mean. Sorry." The brunette apologized not meaning it.
The blonde shrugged her shoulders, "You aren't really sorry, but it's fine." After that a silence settled between the two. It was more awkward for the brunette then the blonde.
They walked in the silence for a while until they managed to somehow end up at the brunette's house. The two stared at each other until Deena broke the silence, "Would you like to come in for a bit?" She rubbed the back of her neck while asking.
"Uhm I don't know." Sam said hesitantly.
"I insist to apologize for earlier, you can stay the weekend if you want. After all you are hiding from your mother." Deena laughed in an attempt to get rid of the awkwardness. She didn't know why she offered in the first place. The brunette hated the girl.
"Okay."
"Okay as in you'll stay the weekend or okay as in no thank you?" The brunette questioned.
Sam shrugged her shoulders, " I guess I'll stay the weekend if it's fine by you."
"Okay great." Deena smiled, a real one this time. Sam smiled back at her while the two walked inside. Her eyes widened as she looked around. "It isn't much compared to yours."
"Oh no it's fine actually, feels homey something that my house doesn't feel like." The blonde clarified her smile returning. The brunette nodded and gave her a tour of the house except for the basement.
______________________Sorry this chapter came out later. I forgot to charge my phone last night and then I had forgotten about the appointment I had for my pet. So I went to his appointment and stayed there because my phone was dead. Finally I've returned home to a charged phone.
