The rest of the brunette's weekend was boring so when school came around she was actually excited to attend it. Her friends never brought up what happened during the weekend and neither did she.

Her mind was blank during most of classes and her focus was never there. The blonde girl she had been dreading to see hadn't shown up to school yet. Deena was thankful for that. One less problem she had to deal with.

When her last class ended, she was even more thankful. 'Finally out of this hellhole, can't believe I was actually excited for school to start.' The brunette thought to herself before she scolded herself for even being excited.

Hope is something you do not get the pleasure of having, especially in Shadyside. It wasn't right, nothing ever was.

The ride home was quiet, Josh hadn't spoke a word and neither had Deena. She appreciated the quietness, it made her less stressed for the next day.
Pulling into empty driveway way she sighed, "Of course he's gone again."

Josh looked at her then looked at the driveway, an unreadable expression came to his face. His shoulders slouched as he got out of the car. Neither of them noticed the figure sitting on the porch.

As they got closer Josh noticed them, "Oh hey Sam." He waved.

"Hey." The blonde responded softly. Her eyes drifted towards the girl beside him. Noticing the look Sam was giving his sister, Josh decided to go inside. Silently scolding his sister for not locking the door.

"Did you need something?" It came out snappy and unwelcoming.

"Do you mind if I stay here for a bit? At least until everything had calmed down at my place." Sam rushed out quietly holding her breath.

She saw the way the brunette's eyes rolled and the slight aggression in her posture. Sam couldn't figure out why the other girl seemed mad.

"Don't you live in a mansion, I'm sure there are plenty of rooms for you to hide in." Deena moved past the other girl in an attempt to leave. A soft hand caught her's at the last moment.

The brunette glanced down at her hand and back at Sam. "Get your hand off me." She seethed. The blonde quickly retracted her hand and backed up.

"S-sorry." She whispered. The brunette could see all sorts of emotions flashing through the blonde's eyes. She recognized most of them, surprise being the main emotion.

"Fine." Deena sighed, she wasn't going to leave a girl on her porch.

"Fine what?" Sam asked.

"Fine you can stay dumbass." Deena rolled her eyes once more a thought going through her head, 'I swear I've rolled my eyes more times in a week than I have in years.'

"Oh, thank you." Sam squeezed the brunette into an awkward hug. Deena not know what to do only patted the other girl's head. When Sam released her they went inside.

"Do you have anything?" Deena questioned, noticing how Sam didn't have a bag on her.

Sam shook her head no, "I didn't get that far." She chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck. Deena only bummed in response, leading the girl to her room.

Sitting down on the bed she spoke, "I have a lot of homework today and you would have too if you went to school today." There was an underlying question that Sam picked up on.

"I felt sick." It was only half of the truth but Deena didn't need to know that.

"So what you're saying is that I'm also going to get sick." Deena spoke playfully, nodding her head in thought. A smile graced Sam's lips, glad that Deena was no longer mad.

"If you insist, I would gladly get you sick." The blonde didn't recognize what her words could have implied but Deena did. The brunette's face flushed a light pink.

"No, no I'm good." She coughed out. Sam nodded, her eyes sparkling compared to a few minutes prior when they were still out on the porch.

An unspoken question toyed on the tip of Sam's tongue but it never left. She didn't want to accidentally offend the brunette. Her gaze was trained on the brunette's face not noticing that she had spoke.

"Are you going to sit down?" Deena repeated knocking Sam out of her trance.

"Yeah sorry." She apologized sitting down beside Deena. Her head rested on the brunette's shoulder while she did some of Deena's homework, ignoring Deena's protests.

Together the two finished the homework within an hour. Sam kept her head rested on the brunette's shoulder. She didn't feel the need to lift it up. After a while Deena got uncomfortable and moved them back so her back could rest against the wall.

Sam toyed with Deena's fingers while the brunette's other hand stroked the blonde's hair. Her hand massaged the blonde's head lightly causing the other girl to hum in content.

Many unspoken words rested on Deena's part while Sam was free of most of her own unspoken words. Finally Deena came to an agreement in her head. One to be angry at the girl for no reason but to enjoy her company while she was at it.

Satisfied with her agreement she fell sideways to lay down, bringing Sam with her. The other girl giggled before getting comfortable again.
