Sam sighed wiping away the tears that had fallen, "He was my ex boyfriend."
Deena raised an eyebrow amused, "So you're comparing me to a guy you use to date. Does that mean I'm your type?"
"No you asshole." Sam scoffed.
"Okay, then continue on."
"You and him share a lot of qualities..." Sam trailed off, her eyes focusing on a person who was crossing the field. She rubbed her eyes to see correctly, blinking multiple times, "What the hell?"
Deena stared at the girl in confusion. She look behind her at the person who was speeding their way, "Who is that?"
"Samantha!" The person shouted across the bare field, they were close enough for Deena to see some of their features.
"I assume that's your boyfriend. He kind of looks like you. Almost like a brother." Deena said.
Sam shook her head in disgust, her body was shaking in fear. "We need to leave. I need to leave."
"What, why?" Deena questioned.
Sam turned around and darted trying to get away. Deena's hand stopped her and the boy was now behind them.
"Hello Sam, random girl I don't know." He nodded towards them a smirk on his face. "I have your mother's approval."
"N-no. Dad wouldn't allow that." Sam stuttered out. She shifted closer to the brunette, her hand griping tightly around her arm.
"Well your father isn't in the picture anymore." He moved closer to them his hand raising up to touch the blonde. Deena's hand stopped his and shoved it down.
"What do you mean he isn't in the picture anymore?" Millions of scenarios went through the blonde's mind.
Peter shrugged his hand going back up again only for it to be smacked down once again.
"Peter! What do you mean he isn't in the picture anymore?" Sam repeated.
"Oh you haven't heard have you?" He taunted her. Deena watched the interaction between them closely. She nudge the girl behind her slightly.
"Heard what?" Deena asked.
"Her precious father died earlier today. He was in a hit and run." Peter shrugged his shoulders as if it was nothing.
"What?" Sam's voice broke. Her breathing picked up, her throat closing off.
"Now that he's gone, it means no one can stop me. You're mine for the taking."
Deena scoffed shoving the boy, "Don't talk about her like that. Like she's an object that you can use as you please."
Peter shoved her back, "What are you going to do about it? Pull my hair?" He taunted.
Deena didn't respond, her knuckles coming in contact with his nose. A sickening crunch was heard.
"You." He paused, "You broke my nose."
Deena tsked, "Shouldn't have put your face near my hand. I have a bad spasms." Sam coughed to cover her laugh.
"I'm suing." He threatened while he walked away.
"Go ahead. Sue my ass, at least everyone will know you got beat by a lady!" Deena called out after him. After he was out of sight Deena turned to look at the blonde behind her, "He's an asshole. I can see why you compared him to me. I haven't exactly been the best person."
Sam rolled her eyes, "Yeah you are."
"Okay just because I admitted, I didn't expect you to agree. Also how are you holding up?"
"I'll manage." Sam sniffled, her eyes were bloodshot.
Deena bumped shoulders with the girl, "You never told me who he was. Why did you break up?"
"He's cruel." Sam whispered, "It was nice at first but then he started doing stuff and yeah." She shrugged. "He was also the one who made me realize that I don't exactly swing that way."
Deena hummed in response deciding to mess with the girl a little, "So he turned you gay. I am your type, I knew it."
Sam snickered shoving Deena to the side, "What if you are, what if you aren't. Then what would you do?"
"I would do a lot of things." Deena made kissing faces at the girl who laughed. A smile rested on their faces, "Do you want me to take you home or would you rather come over to my place?"
"Are you sure you aren't going to get mad the next day." Sam joked.
Deena's smile dropped, "I'm sorry." She whispered out.
"I know." Sam responded softly. "I'll go home with you. I don't think I'm ready to face mother with father no longer in the picture."
