Sam woke up the next morning exhausted, her father and her had stayed up decently late trying to clean her room. They did a good job other than the holes that littered the walls and the blood stains on the desk.
With all the cleaning yesterday, the blonde girl wasn't able to do any homework. She was tempted to skip school to do it, but she didn't. Getting ready felt like the hardest thing to do, she was painfully aware of the slight swelling in her wrist.
Taking a shower and putting on clothes didn't help. Her wrist pulsed, the area around it bruising a dark purple. She had a feeling it might have sprained when Peter held her wrist.
When she was ready to go her father dropped her off wishing her to have a good day. Sam sighed, entering the school. She avoided contact with everyone, keeping to herself as she walked to her first hour.
She sat in the back by a window in the opposite direction of a certain brunette she was trying to avoid. After yesterday's incident if you could call it that, the blonde girl didn't want any contact with the group.
Kate must have noticed because on her way to her forth hour she was stopped by the smaller brunette. "Hey! Sam. Stop walking long legs." She panted out, her hands resting on her knees.
Sam laughed awkwardly, "Hey Kate."
"Hey Kate? That's all? I haven't seen you today. Why's that?" She asked in an accusing tone. Her hand rested on her hip.
Sam attempted to change the subject, "I'm not that much taller than you." She started to walk away after she finished but the girl stopped her, grabbing her wrist. Sam winced when Kate grabbed her bad wrist.
Kate quickly withdrew her hand, "Are you hurt?"
"No." Sam lied, "You just grabbed me a little hard, that's all." She felt bad for lying to the girl but there was no need to make her worry.
"Mhmm." Kate mumbled not convinced but she dropped it. "I have cheer practice after school. You should come and sign up. You look like you would be flexible enough to do most moves."
Sam stifled a giggle accidentally taking it the wrong way, "I'm not sure."
"How about you just come and watch." Kate suggested. Sam nodded and they went their classes.
Avoiding the brunette had been easier than Sam thought. She didn't attempt to talk to Sam. She didn't even look in her direction.
Sam was confused, she didn't know what caused her to snap at her the other day. The brunette in general was so confusing. The blonde girl desperately wanted to know Deena's thought process but marching into uncharted territory was a bad idea.
When school ended Sam was picked up by Kate outside her classroom door. "How'd you get here so fast?"
Kate smirked shrugging her shoulders, "I may or may have not skipped the last few minutes of class." Sam laughed silently. The walk to the field was quiet, neither of them felt the need to talk.
Sam sat on the bleachers to the right of the field, setting her backpack down by her feet. Doing homework was her least favorite thing to do but she had to catch up.
It was only five minutes in when her pencil broke, "Stupid fucking stick, good for nothing." She cursed tossing her pencil into her backpack. She had barley gotten through two questions on one of the sheets.
