Chapter 2

right before dad parked the car the guy said "I'm Henry's son" after he said that I sighed and said "oh umm hi?" he raised an eyebrow and said "and you are?" I didn't know what to tell him, dad wouldn't like it if I said I was his daughter before I could say anything dad came over and said "Aiden! Son look at you!" they hugged each other and it made me feel sad remembering how he used to look at me all happy instead of disgusted. Dad turned towards me and said in a teasing manner"you silly girl! Let him in! Oh and this right here is my wifes Jane's daughter" I stood there shocked that he didn't yell at me while part of me died while he denied me being his daughter. I quickly recovered and stepped aside to let them in. Aiden grabbed his luggage and left it in the living room.

No later mom arrived and being a bitch she immediately kissed my cheek telling me she missed me. While we sat at the table I couldn't help but shake my head at how my parents were acting. A few times I saw dad look at his food and glare, I already knew he didnt like something and while I sat there waiting for the yelling to begin, it never did. It was like a time bomb with dad you never knew when he would blow up. Mom had made small conversation with me, and dad even complemented me a few times. That's when I realized why they were being so nice to me. They wanted to be the perfect family so they would impress Aiden. A piece of my heart actually died at that moment of realization, knowing that they would probably never love me like they did before. Probably never try loving me again. Sometimes I even wondered if they really did love me or were they just pretending. I looked at dad laugh at whatever story Aiden was telling, mom was blushing whenever dad flirted with her. I couldn't help but feel jealous, I also couldn't help to feel left out. They all looked so perfect and happy while I was just... there. After dinner I offered to clean the dishes knowing that's what dad would want. Mom excused herself because she had some girl night out, dad apparently got a call from work and had to leave. When they were gone Aiden sighed and said "dad's actually pretty cool" I turned to look at him and said "you didn't know him?" he shrugged and said "sort of its a long story" I nodded and said "so do you want to go to your new room?" He shook his head and said "nah I'll help with the dishes first" i shook my head and said "oh no! It's ok I can do it your a guest besides you must be tired" he looked at me funny but said "it's ok i slept the whole flight from Washington to Minnesota, I can still dry a few dishes" I nodded and said "fine but it's the first and last time I let you" he smirked and said "why scared I might be better at washing dishes than you?" "ha ha, no it's just I think guests should be comfortable" he smiled and said "ok, but I'm staying for the rest of my senior year, I might as well help out a little." my mouth dropped open in shock which made him say "might want to close your mouth before I put something in it, if you know what I mean" then he winked and went back to drying dishes which was a good thing because I was blushing madly. I cleared my throat and asked "so your a senior?" he smiled and said "yup, how bout you?" I smiled and said "I'm a Junior" he nodded and asked "so do they throw good parties around here?" I shrugged and said "I wouldn't know, mom never lets me go, but I've heard the really good parties are thrown by Matt, he's the quarterback" he nodded and said "you know him?" "sadly yes, I started tutoring him five days ago, total asshole, but fun" he laughed and said "great then that's my new best friend" I laughed and said "total player huh?" he smirked and said "but for you babe I'll change" I rolled my eyes and said "come on player let's get you to your room." he laughed and said "after you my lady" I scoffed and went up the stairs, before I made it to the top step Aiden whistled an said "damn babe that's a nice ass" when I made it to the top i turned around and said "jerk" he chuckled and then I said "ok here it is, the guest room, if you want to change things feel free to do so, and if you need anything my room is just across yours" he nodded and said "bathroom?" "oh right! It's down the hall to the right" he nodded and I turned to open my door when a hand on my shoulder stopped me. I turned to Aiden and raised an eyebrow he smiled an said "what's your name?" "Sapphire" he smiled and said "sweet dreams" I smiled back and said "night Aiden" then I went in closed the door behind me then took a shower, put on my pj's and went straight to sleep ignoring the fact that I hadn't done my homework.
