"Kaden" I answer softly
"Hey" he says giggling softly
"Hey, how was school?" I ask and he sighs
"Fine mama..." he answers quietly and I know it wasn't fine.
The light turns green and I push on my accelerator, taking a swift turn
"What happened kaden?" I asked softly, he sighs
"Today was bring your 'parents to school day' I had nobody to bring" he says sadly
My heart.
It stops..
..beating.
I can't remember how to breath, I swallow the lump back and wipe the tears strolling down my cheeks before taking a deep breath trying to even my breath.
"Kaden I'm sorry, you know I'm so far from you, I would have been there" I say sincerely
"I know mama, but it just felt sad, everyone was with their parents and I stayed in the library all day" he says annoyed.
I take a harsh breath
"I'm sorry... okay...Um...I'll come see you soon in Spain, I promise I'll walk you everyday to school" I say making him squeal in excitement
"When mama?! When?" He asks and I smile
"I have my leave in a few days time, I'll come over to Spain, I promise" I say
"Yes! Yes!" He shouts and I laugh slightly
"HEY YOU! GET AWAY FROM THE ROAD!" A man yells before driving past me in a swift speed
"Kaden, mama has to go now, please sleep and don't give Theresa a hard time or I'll tell her not to walk you to the park tomorrow" I tell him with a stern voice trying to sound serious
"Okay mama, love you!" He says before hanging up
I sigh and rest my head on the seat,
"Love you too sunshine" I murmur.

I put the keys in the key hole opening the door while setting my bags on the small table by the side of the door, I lock the door and rest my head on it.
I'm exhausted
"Do you always come home this late?"
I jump out of my skin and turn around just to be met by my mother crossing her arms and leaning on the wall.
"Mother!,don't scare me like that! Aren't you supposed to be sleeping?" I ask
"'Well, I was sleeping, I just got thirsty and came down to get a glass of water just to see my daughter walking in the house at 10:47pm....I'm impressed" she scolded
"Mother, you know it's work, I'm really tired I need to sleep" I said walking past her up the stairs
"And um mother?..." I call, she doesn't answer but I know she's listening
"I'll be going to visit kaden soon, please help me keep the house clean" I said before walking up the stairs.
