Tommy POV-
I was nervous, obviously, but I hid it easily and just sat in my seat, waiting to be called for my interview. It didn't help to see a few popular heroes, talking to some of the people, and I saw one of them, Niki Nihachu, look at me from the corner of my eye, she walked up to me and extended her hand, I hesitated to shake it, knowing she had the ability to see through people's memories and project them for others eyes to see, if wanted, but remember I was wearing black gloves, so I shook her hand, she eyed my gloves, the smile on her face never faltered, she did seem taken aback, but it was winter, so it wasn't a surprise to see some people wearing gloves or warm clothing.
"Hello, I'm Niki", She smiled, "Hello, Niki, I'm Thomathy, which is a really unfortunate name, so you can just call me Tommy", I said simply, Niki laughed, "Alright then, Tommy, how do you feel? About your upcoming interview I mean", Niki asked, I thought for a moment, "confident", "Really? Your so confident, you believe you'll get the job?", she asked, I nodded, "If I don't have hope in what I'm doing, then why would I be doing it in the first place? Better to talk my ability and success into existence, even if my confidence is just for show", I explained, her eyes widened slightly, then she pulled a chair over and sat down in front of me, which caught the attention of a familiar winged hero, Philza.
As if my luck couldn't get any worse.
The man raised an eyebrow at her but she brushed him off, a small smile on her face, then he walked over, "Thomathy Jones?", He asked, I nodded, "That would be me", "You can go ahead with your interview, mate", I smiled and thanked him.
As I walked away, my back facing them, I sighed. Finally getting away from the two heroes.
God, this was gonna be hard.
"Thomathy Jones?", "That Would be me, Sir", I said, stepping into the large office room, behind the tall hero, a large window with the view of the city, was behind him, he eyed the chair in front of him, and I got the message, sitting down across from him, "Tommy is fine", I said, the brunette hummed gently, "Alright then, Tommy", He started, "Those two heroes seemed to be very fond of you already", "You hesitated to shake her hand?", I knew immediately what he was talking about, "I know about her power, being able to see a person's life with just a single touch, I hesitated because there are some things I'd rather keep private, everyone does, but I'd also wouldn't want to be judged by what others see in me and what they think about me depending on the past rather then me now.", I explained. The hero, Singing-Phantom, looked at me for a moment, as if trying to figure out what I was thinking, as if trying to read me, but failing, "Why do you think I sent those two heroes out to question people applying for the internship?", I looked out the window for a moment, then turned back to the hero, "Philza is known as a fatherly figure for the citizens of Lmanberg, so it makes some people more comfortable while waiting to be interviewed, and Nihachu, like I said before, she can see a person's life story with just a single touch, she could find out if some people have more to offer than others", I said,
"What's your opinion on Vigilantes?", I was taken aback by the question but refused to show it, keeping myself relaxed and calm, "Personally, whether some people like to admit it or not, there is a flaw in the hero industry and the government system, heroes do not patrol or watch over smaller districts, that is where Vigilante's come in, they take care of what Heroes can't, but then again, you never know if one of them is either the next Philza or the next Schlatt, a Vigilante in my district, Pogtopia Towers, district 15, A lot of people are familiar with him, though he's quiet and untouchable, he's not evil or a Villian, really, I think Vigilantes should be judged individually never JUST off actions though, because actions and words can be deceiving too", I said, The Brunette looked out the window for a while, thinking, then he turned to me with a soft smile
"Welcome to the team, Tommy, you'll be working under my authority starting tomorrow"
