《CHAPTER NINE》

Wilbur POV-

Were we really that nosy? I don't want to drive Tommy away, I just want to make sure he's safe. Phil looked like he was about to say something when the door swung open before Boffy could even reach it, and I sucked in a breath

"Hi Boffy", 

"Heya Toms"

Toms. That's why he didn't want me calling him Toms.

It's because i'm not Boffy.

They stood like that for a while, just staring at each other, Tommy's gaze on him was unreadable, and still, I couldn't tell what was going on with Boffy. 

Boffy smiled, "you better not become as nosy as them", Tommy scoffed playfully, "Rude! I'm very respectful, i'll have you know", Boffy chuckled, ruffling Tommy's hair, "I know", he then whispered something to Tommy, something I couldn't make out, but Tommy looked frozen, "I thought you'd hate me by now", Tommy muttered, "Never", Boffy said, he looked over at me and Philza as we stared, dumbfound. "Don't do anything I wouldn't", Boffy said, "Don't do anything I would", Tommy replied with a sheepish smile, Boffy only grinned in return, walking past Tommy as Tommy stared at the floor before looking up at us. "I definitely was not eavesdropping", he said, smiling playfully, before he turned back in the direction of Wilbur's office.

His smile wasn't fake this time.

Tommy POV-

Boffy was smart. Risky, but smart.

"You know where to find me" He had whispered, after messing with my hair.

It's been so long since we've last talked, and yet, he's so easy going, and so carefree.

I'm proud to say he rubbed off on me.

but how the hell did he know I worked here in such a short amount of time?? I know that He's always a step ahead of everything, he probably knew I was going to take up on the position of Wilbur's intern as soon as the position itself was released.

I'm thinking too much about this, I decided, and finished going through the files, since Wilbur was taking too long to come back. Hopefully I don't end up getting fired already, Tubbo would kill me.

How long is Wilbur going to stay with Philza in his office?

Philza POV-

"Are we really that nosy?", Wilbur asked, I looked down at my desk, "I hate to say it, but Boffy was right, it is Tommy's first day, and were interrogating his friend as if we even know Tommy, as if we have any right to decide who who gets to hang out with", "I- I know! I know Boffy is right, but-", "But you just want to make sure the kid is safe? I know wil, but we can't just immediately start doing this, imagine what Tommy must be thinking right now?", I said, Wilbur looked guilty, and I was too, "Were idiots", I said, Wilbur laughed, "Yeah, we are"

I hope Tommy doesn't end up quitting, despite him only being here for just a little amount of time, he's already grown on me.

And he isn't like any 19 year old I've ever met, but then again, he has been working since he was sixteen, and he has most definitely been through some things, i'd be lying if I said I didn't notice, he's so cautious for a 19 year old, so rational and quick.

But it's like he's afraid of us, the only time I haven't seen an empty look in his eyes is, when Boffy and him interacted in front of me and Wilbur. He talked to Boffy so easily, and it was like it came natural to him too, so why couldn't he do that with us? We were literally Heroes, everyone trusts us!

That's the type of ego that makes him afraid of you.

I froze, as I thought that, was he really afraid of me and Wilbur? If he was, then why?

I knew something had happened to him, I knew Boffy had something to do with it, I could feel it, maybe Boffy had helped him, and  yeah, I had no right to get involved, but if Tommy does give any sign that something  is wrong, then I would  have to get involved.

Ranboo POV-

"I called Tommy earlier about it", I said, looking at Tubbo, as he slouched in his seat, "really? what did he say?", "I'm guessing I called him in a public area, or around the Heroes because he started talking in code with me, but to sum it all up, he said he'd find out what happened, but I don't understand much either", I admitted, Tubbo sighed, "Thats on me, I didn't explain clearly, I just panicked I guess, I thought something was wrong when I started hearing a voice in Tommy's room that wasn't his", "And we couldn't get inside", I said, Tubbo nodded, "Yeah, but then I realized it wasn't like someone was there in person, it sounded more like a message being played off on speaker", "Do you remember what it said?", Tubbo shook his head, "No, I don't, but if I could get inside, I could probably find whatever the message played off, and replay it, but I didn't want to break down the door or pick the lock, since Tommy doesn't like us going in his room, and i've already hurt him enough, I don't want to disrespect his privacy now", Tubbo said quietly, I sighed, running a hand through my hair, "Tommy said he'll still be home late, but that he'd handle it, and that we shouldn't worry much about it"
