Tommy POV-

"Hello, Wilbur", I greeted, with a strained smile.

The burning sensation stained my throat, and down my lungs, the blood building up in them burned and boiled. I could feel it.

Wilbur looked up at me, and he smiled, "Heya, Tommy", his welcoming gaze seemed to falter for a split second, and I kept my mask of a face on, placing his coffee down on his desk, where he sat, "i'm gonna start on my work now, I already went and dropped off Philza and Technoblade's coffee at both of there offices, along with Sam's and Captain Puffy's, Hannah didn't want a coffee today, she said she wanted to start drinking more water", I shrugged, "Ah, alright then..", Wilbur said quietly, looking at me with observant eyes. As I was turning around to head to my desk, Wilbur silently muttered a quick, "wait-", and I stopped, "Yes?", "I just- how do you feel about vigilantes, be honest with me, what do you think about them? How do you feel about them?"

"He knows",  a small voice told me.

"Vigilantes? Well...They do what Heroes can't, don't they? After all,  you can only do so much with such little help, right? Maybe thats why I feel like Vigilantes are- well, I guess thats why I think there...acceptable?..No, no- not all Vigilantes are great, but there are quite a bit that just help out Heroes, so, I guess I'm fine with Vigilantes, but it really depends on the context, you know? Background information, little details, how they handle things, there all big deals to me, say you were a Vigilante, Wilbur, if you went around helping the people the legal  heroes couldn't, then I'd have no reason to think your a menace to society, not when your just helping people, no, helping people shouldn't be illegal, not because of some stupid title", I explained, pausing for a moment before I continued, "The only difference between you and a Hero would be that your illegal, and there not, but the thing is, Wilbur, It doesn't matter if something is legal or illegal, it only matters if it's right or wrong", and it was there, it looked as though Wilbur had come to a burning realization, but calmed himself down very quickly, "You really are amazing, aren't you?", my eyes widened at what he said, and he looked at me in awe, "I- I don't think so", I said, Wilbur frowned, "Why is that-", The sound of the doors closing had me and Wilbur snapping our heads towards the noise, where Technoblade and Philza emerged, tension seeming to follow them, "I don't think they drank enough of there coffee", Wilbur whispered to me, I snorted, "Hello, Philza, Technoblade, everything alright?", I asked quickly, Philza's dim look brightened, and Technoblade perked up slightly, "Yeah, were all good, Mate", Philza smiled, and Technoblade muttered what seemed like an agreement. "I was wondering Tommy, your last name, it isn't really 'Jones', is it?", Technoblade asked, and my blood ran cold, but I hid my panic, I didn't want to give any indication that I was hiding something bad, I had already been a bit careless about that.

"Oh, yeah- well, no, Jones isn't my actual surname, but it was my foster parents, so It kinda just stays with me now", I said simply with a shrug, "Why?", I asked, with fake curiosity, "I just- I was just wondering, it kinda stood out for me, but it's nothing really, I just got curious", I nodded, "Alright, no worried big man", I assured, while I sat down at my desk, immediately starting my work. Ignoring the side glaces Technoblade, Phil and Wilbur traded while sneaking quick looks at me while they talked, but then they left quite quickly.

"Hey, Tommy?", "yes?", I asked, Wilbur looked at me seriously.

"Do I know you?"

I smiled, and shook my head, "No, not yet", and Wilbur smiled, "Okay", and he returned to his paperwork.

Wilbur POV-

Philza wouldn't stop bringing last night up, he was so presentiment with the idea of Tommy being the Jester, but I just didn't want to hear any of it.

"No- No no no, It's not him, it's just a coincidence", I stammered quickly, Techno looked up, after keeping quiet for a bit, "Is it also a coincidence Tommy had the same bruise down his neck, like the one I gave The Jester before?", Techno asked, his voice still and calm as always, but I could see the panic in his eyes.

I did not want to risk it. I did not want to risk putting Tommy in that kind of trouble, IF  he was a vigilante.

If he was, i'd still bend the rules for him

"It doesn't matter if it's illegal or legal, it matters if it's right or wrong"

Goddammit Tommy, why do you have to be so stubborn and childish, but so smart and observant at the same time??

Boffy POV-

I slouched in my seat, I had only just then remembered how I found red venom in Philza's office, and I sighed.

Dream just had to fuck things up, huh?

I swear, he'd start wars with different planets  for George.

"You can come in, Philza", I called, sitting upright in my chair, hearing the soft footsteps stop at my door, hesitating to knock.

"I wanted to talk", "alright, let's talk then", I said, Philza came in quietly and sat down in front of me, I continued to look over my emails while trading small words with him until I decided to just get to the point, "what do you need from me, Philza?", He frowned, and failed to speak up, "Is it about Tommy?", I asked simply, he nodded, and I sat back in my seat, "What about Tommy than?", "Is he okay? I'm not looking for anything about his past or anything, though I am still curious, I'd rather let him decide whether he wants to talk to me or not", "No ones ever truly okay, Philza, so tell me,what would your definition of 'okay', be?", I asked, I'll admit, I was walking on a very thin line, speaking to Philza Minecraft like this. But I can't say I care too much.

"Is he healthy, I mean, he looks so pale, his smile looks more strained than ever, and he walks- oh my god, it's like-", "Like he's ready to collapse?", Philza nodded, "Then no, Tommy is not healthy, not at the moment at least, he's a bit...sick. He has been for a while, but I can assure you, how he is right now, it's only symptoms of him getting better and showing a path to recovery.", "His medical records-", "are empty? I know, Tommy is stubborn, he will not let anybody help him, not if he's on the verge of death", Philza's shoulders tensed, "He will only ever see any kind of help, as pity, and he doesn't like pity", I explained, "Why are you telling me this?", Philza asked, I looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "You came to me to talk, is this not what you wanted? You came to me for answers, didn't you?", Philza shook his head, "It is, I just- I just didn't expect you to actually tell me anything", I shrugged, "Is that all?", Philza thought for a while, "I know I don't know him that well, but when I first met him, I just- he felt so familiar.", I looked out the window, ignoring the swell in my chest and the pressure on my shoulders, the words died on my tounge and a didn't dare let them spill, only allowing them to retreat to my endless mind and void of thoughts.

Familiar or family, Philza?
