"Sayaka, you must jump."

'What does it even matter anymore? Clearly, the President and I mean nothing to each other...'  thought Sayaka Igarashi, the student council secretary of Hyakkaou Academy.

This prestigious school was run solely on gambling, and if one was beat in a gamble; not only would they lose their money- they also lost their dignity. They were to become house-pets, labeled Mittens for females and Fidos for males. They were the lowest of the low, treated with no respect.

Sayaka turned to Yumeko Jabami, the woman who had just beaten her in the Tower of Doors gamble they had just participated in. Yumeko was- well... quite the wild card. She had beaten most of the student council's members, the most elite gamblers throughout the school.

She certainly was something else.

Sayaka was convinced that because Yumeko gambled for the actual sake of gambling, that was why she won most gambles. She was fearless, something Sayaka could never be. Even though the clever purple-haired girl harbored hatred towards Yumeko- for stealing the President's attention away from her- there was some part of her that she craved to be like.

Winning or losing, money earned or taken- it didn't matter to the woman. All that mattered was the thrill of maybe having to lose it all. To be able to trump the odds, or get the high card. Whatever that could possibly mean!

Even though Sayaka didn't understand gambling, or just Yumeko's ideology in general; she knew someone who did.

Her motivation of the Tower of Doors gamble.

Kirari Momobami.

The loser was to become a complete stranger to Kirari, who was student council president.

And Yumeko knew that was her only weakness! Not death, expulsion from Hyakkaou, threats- none of that could ever compare to this.

Becoming a stranger to the President.

She simply couldn't imagine a life without her.

Which is why she didn't have to.

"Please choose a door." Kirari stated, gesturing a sapphire-painted nail around the room.

Trudging slowly, Sayaka dragged her feet across the floor, keeping her head down and eyes facing the ground. She approached a door, pressing her fingers on the keypad.

"BEEP!"  She pressed the number 5, which was the answer in Braille. The door opened.

Turning around slowly, her ponytail tousled in the wind. Her bangs being swept into her face, she uttered: "You are my one true love, President."

She didn't think the President could even hear it.

Closing her eyes, she exhaled slowly, and then placed her hand over her heart. 'Kirari Momobami is the last person I want to see if I'm going to never see again.'  She whispered in a corner of her mind.

She leaned backwards, feeling a sense of weightlessness as she plummeted downwards to her demise.

As Kirari watched this, she cocked her head; her braid circles tousling in the wind. "I love you too, Sayaka-san..."  She whispered ever-so-slightly. She looked over at Yumeko. The noirette made no notice of hearing her.

But like always, Yumeko just seemed to know.

Running full speed, bending her knees, and then jumping as well; Kirari plummeted in a dive downwards. 'I've got to make sure she falls safely.'  The blonde thought, with a little smile on her blue-glossed lips.

Sayaka, meanwhile, had a slightly dazed expression. 'Goodbye, world.'  She thought to herself. But then a streak of a person caught her eye.

Someone was jumping off, too?!?

Catching a glimpse of a blonde braid and laced sleeves tucked into the standard Hyakkaou uniform, she knew.

It was her kaichou.

"N-no!" She yelped, eyes widening. 'Just me, please, God, just let me die! The President can't die!! NOOOO!!!'  Her mind screeched at her.

Kirari, with a content smile painted on, just calmly took Sayaka's hand with one of hers', and then placed one on top of the purplette's head.

Sayaka shook her head quickly, slipping Kirari's hand off her head and placing her's instead on the blonde's head.

She needed to protect the person she loved most, after all.

"POOF!"

They landed quickly into the lily-adorned field. They heard nauseating cracks. Of their ribs? Of their arms? Legs? Skulls?!? They didn't even know, because in the next few moments; all they felt was indescribable pain.
