"And how does their relationship make you feel, Kirari-san?"
"Hmm... I would say it makes me happy." She replied. "Ririka deserves somebody that can help validate her sense of self-worth. Mary Saotome..." her lip curled slightly, "as much as I dislike her... can do that."
"And moving onto our other topics, how was that gamble you oversaw?" The woman marked off something on her clipboard. "You said it was between... indivduals named Yumeko Jabami and Runa Yomotsuki?"
"Oh, right- about that..."
Kirari Momobami sat opposite to a brunette woman in her thirties. Ever since she woke up and steadily recovered from her injuries, Ririka made her attend substance abuse counseling and therapy once a week.
As much as the platinum-blonde disliked it in the beginning, she had to share almost every aspect of her life to the woman. It was a therapist's job after all, to weed out negative topics and discuss them.
But it grew on her, the ability to talk about the problems and joys of her life. Strangely, it was liberating to Kirari. Her therapist and herself talked about anything in her life, ranging from the Hyakkaou Presidency, her twin, playing the harp, gambling, the clan- and also.... Sayaka. After all, she was the reason she was sitting in the room with the woman.
Time heals all wounds. That was the phrase what the therapist said on the first day, the very first words she spoke to Kirari.
And it was true. Although the pain of Sayaka's absence, her scars, her craving to drown herself in alcohol and pills, the pain she caused others were still there; they hurt much less as the platinum-blonde began to be at ease with her existence.
15 minutes later, the session ended.
"See you next week, Kirari-san," the woman smiled kindly and placed the Kirari's session files into a manila folder.
"Sayonara," Kirari waved her hand lightly and replied. Once she opened the door, she was greeted by the sight of Ririka, who was reading a book on the bench outside the office.
Her sister had made it an absolute must to accompany Kirari to the sessions, to make sure she wasn't flaking out on them. Albeit it did annoy Kirari, the braid-haired girl knew that Ririka worried about her- and letting her come gave the shy girl peace of mind.
"How was it?" Ririka closed her book, beginning their post-session conversation the same way she always had.
"Good, we talked about the Yumeko-Runa gamble and..." Kirari replied, smirking, "your and Mary-san's relationship..." her voice lilted in a playful way.
Ririka's face erupted into a blush. She was so easy to get a reaction out of, it was quite amusing to her younger sister. "W-why did you do that?!?"
"Relax!" Kirari nudged the girl's side. "My therapist brought it up, and I told her what I thought of it."
"And what would that be, imouto?" Ririka clutched the book to her chest, staring down at the floor. Her sandals now seemed like the most interesting thing in the world. Her lips pressed together firmly and she gulped. Even though the twins were having a playful interaction, Kirari knew that her sister was asking for approval.
"That even though Mary might be temperamental..." Kirari sighed, "and does have other flaws..."
Ririka's lip quivered.
"-she is perfect for you."
The girl's head snapped up, her eyes wide in glee. "R-really! You really think so?"
"You two are very different, but I think that she is helping you become your own person. Perhaps..." Kirari stroked her chin, "that is why you two attracted each other in the first place... interesting..." Her gaze seemed far away, and Ririka sighed in relief.
"Hey," Kirari's attention snapped onto a new topic. The girl often got bored easily, and her grumbling stomach was reminding her of another necessary need. "Let's go get frozen yogurt."
"Okay," Ririka replied softly, and she hooked her arm around her twin's. The two sisters were very close (growing up in an environment where they were taught to be the same did that), and were often physical with each other.
"You know," Kirari licked her spoon, the mint and chocolate flavor seeping onto her tongue, "you need to buy better concealer."
"Excuse me?" Her sister replied, swallowing a spoonful of raspberry froyo.
"I mean..." the other's words dragged lazily, "it's obvious that Mary marked you right there." She pointed shamelessly, smiling in a faux-innocent expression.
"KIRARI!"
