~Sana's POV~
I quickly got put on a collar shirt and khaki pants and ran downstairs after getting the call from y/n."Excuse me please move! LAPD!" I showed my badge so people would move out the way.
"SANA! HERE!" I saw y/n wave and I ran to her. As I approached her, I saw the body hanging from the tree. WHAT THE HELL.
"Oh my god I saw him a couple of times. He lived in the floor below me." I mumbled as I stared at his hanging corpse.
"You knew him?" Y/n turned to ask me
"Not personally but I said hi to him and his family a few times." I couldn't take my eyes of him. I felt sick to my stomach. There's no way this was a suicide. It had to be a murder.
"Well CSI is coming soon. Mike and David are talking to his family and others." Y/n said and walked away to keep people from tampering.
Minutes later our precinct was clear to leave while the overs would take over since it technically wasn't in our area.
"What do we do know?" David asked as we walked away from the scene.
"We'll let them do their investigation while we finish ours. I'll wait until they're done so I can talk to their chief." Mike explained while I continued to stare into space.
"Ms Sana are you ok?" Mike randomly put me on the spotlight and I quickly nodded my head.
"Don't worry I'm just trying to wrap this around my head." I lied to them and Mike looked at me with an unsure look. I hope he didn't expect anything else.
"Well lets go the sleep for a few hours and come back at 10 ok?" Mike gave us the clear and we went our separate ways.
"Are you sure you're fine?" Y/n walked with me back towards my apartment building.
"Yes yes. I'm fine now you can go get sleep." I pushed her away and she sighed.
"Why don't you sleep at my place," y/n blurted out but quickly became red, "I mean it's safer at my place that's why." She scratched the back of her neck.
"Aha anything for you darling." I smiled at her and twirled a strand of her hair around my finger.
"ugh..." she looked at the floor and led me to her car so we could sleep at her house. As soon as we got to her place, I crashed onto her bed and wrapped the comforter around me.
"Hey, that's my stuff. You sleep on the couch." She pointed out her door but I ignored her and turned the other way. This bed was too comfortable no way in hell am I leaving.
"Just get in bed next to me. It'll only be for a few hours." I patted next to me and she sighed before getting in. As she adjusted I wrapped my arms around her and nudged my head onto her shoulder.
"WHAT-,"
"Hushhh just go to sleep." I yawned and she finally became quiet. Although I wasn't facing her, I could tell that she was blushing due to her heartbeat increasing. If only we could stay like this forever...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up to the smell of slightly over cooked rice. Ugh my head hurts and I'm still sleepy. Why could the day just pause?
"Eh?" I walked into the kitchen where y/n was eating food while gathering her things.
"We have to go. I tried to wake you up earlier but you wouldn't budge."
"How careless of you." I folded my arms and walked towards the door.
"I thought you would be fine since you seemed stressed earlier."
"No no I'll be fine!" I shook her off and she gave an unconvinced look.
"Fine lets go." Y/n walked us out to the car and we headed towards the department. As we got there Diana was handing Mike a pile of files and David was on the phone.
"Any updates?" Y/n asked as she placed her things down and took off her blazer.
"Well I looked into Liliana Whorton and it seems that both parents are dead and no siblings. She probably acquired her parents debt and tried to pay it off." Mike suggested and I thought to myself.
"This might be far fetched but I feel like these are connected." Y/n quietly said and Mike looked at her.
"Care to elaborate?"
"Well it's not backed up yet but-,"
"Just got off the phone with the other precinct." David interrupted and slammed the phone down
"Well?"
"His wife says that he stepped outside to make a phone call apparently to his debt collector. He never came back and boom he was found hanging." David replied
"Have they checked any cameras from the hotel?" Mike asked
"It's no use. I remember the landlord complaining that it was broken and it wouldn't be fixed until May." I told them
"Well the Officer Mendoza told me that they already have a list of potential killers but it's likely going to passed off as a suicide." David explained and rubbed his temple.
"A suicide? There's no way!" Y/n got up from her seat.
"It's not confirmed but Mendoza said that will likely happen." David shrugged and I stood up from my desk too. That obviously wasn't a suicide, no way! I'd hate to tell his family that he offed himself when his killer could be on the loose.
"I- I'm gonna get coffee. Is that ok?" I said to Mike, who gave me a concerned look before nodding his head.
I quickly walked out and headed towards the coffee shop that was across the street. I ordered my usual hazelnut coffee and got a slice of cake just to ease me up. I didn't personally know him but I did see him and his family a few times which is all making me feel guilty knowing that we likely won't find his killer.
As I walked back into the building I saw everyone heading towards the door.
"Wait, what's going on?" I asked as I followed y/n
"We have another victim!" Y/n grabbed her keys and I followed in confusion.
"What? Two in one day?" I asked as we got into the car. We followed Mike to the crime scene which was in the alley way next to a gym. It looked very familiar...
"The owner said that they were taking out the morning trash when they saw the dead body." An officer explained to us as we arrived. We walked into the alley to see a young man laying on the ground with a rope tied around his neck. His hands were bloodied and were around the rope.
This was obviously not a suicide. No way would a person be able to kill themself like this and it looked like he was struggling.
"Well looks like we have a serial killer here. I heard about the other cases." A CSI worker explained to Mike as the ambulance took away the body.
"Luckily the news hasn't caught onto it yet. It'll make it a lot harder to catch him once the news finds out." Mike sighed.
As we continued to look at the scene we heard a van door shut. I looked up to see a news van and a reporter hurrying over towards us.
Well shit.
