~3rd POV~
After the phone call, the next few days were tense in her house. Her parents kept her inside and wouldn't explain to her why, fortunately Sana already knew.

"Sana please let me take you to the arcade! I'll cover everything." One of Sana's friends pleaded as they walked out of school.

"Sorry Mina...you know how my parents have been recently."

"Ugh it's so unfair!" Sakura frowned at Sana's response.

"Maybe they'll calm down soon and we'll be able to hang out." Sana tried to sound optimistic but it was just one big lie. Until Chikage left her family alone, her parents had no chance of relaxing.

The three girls parted ways and Sana had a peaceful walk. She stopped by the corner store in hopes of buying a 6 pack of donuts she could split with her parents and some food to keep her full until later.

"That'll be 3.75"

Oh shit. Sana only bought $2.50 with her. Maybe she should put back the donuts? No. She wanted to share those.

"Don't worry I got it." A voice came up from behind Sana. She got chills as she already knew who it was. The birthday girl turned around to see Chikage with a crisp white shirt and tie with pleated pants. Why is he dressed so nicely at a CORNER STORE?

"Thank you." Sana mumbled as the two exited the store.

"So what are you doing today?" He smiled at her as he had a goal in his mind. Fortunately for sana, she could tell he was up to no good.

"Nothing much. I'm going home." Sana quickly turned and started to walk in the opposite direction.

"WAIT wait!" Sana's face tensed as he started to walk beside her.

"You have a car. Use it." She bluntly replied.

"Aren't you wondering why I'm dressed up all nice?"

To be fair, Sana did wonder why but she was fine not knowing.

"Today is your birthday~" he hummed and she tightly pressed her lips.

"How does that correlate?"

"Be at the new steakhouse by 8. Dress nicely ok?" He winked and went back to his car.

Eughhhhhh. Her whole body cringed as she quickly walked home. Why can't he go die or something? She was spending her birthday with her parents. No way in hell was she gonna meet up with him.

Once Sana got home, she peacefully sat outside since it was oddly warm. Her parents would be home at night so she might as well enjoy weather before the temperature drops.

~~~~~
"Sana~~~" she heard her mom sing as the door opened.
"MOM!" Sana got up and was also surprised to see her dad.
"W-why are you home early?"
"Well we got off early since it's your birthday!" Her mom smiled as she hugged her daughter.
"Anddd surprise!" Her dad revealed a sheet cake which read "Happy birthday Sana" in fancy cursive.
"Oh my gosh! Thank you!" She hugged her dad and didn't want to let go.
Sana's parents went to put the cake down and she wondered if she should tell her parents about the interaction with Chikage.
"Is something wrong?" Her dad noticed the unsure look on his daughter's face.
"Hm? Nothing! It's just been a weird day." Sana turned around to go to the bathroom.
She shouldn't tell her parents... it would make it awkward and she didn't want to ruin her day.
After drinking soda and eating cake, the trio sat on the couch and watched one of  Sana's favorite movies, the Exorcist. Sana managed to fall asleep with a smile on her face and so did her parents. However, they were rudely awakened by loud knocks on the door.
"Hm?" Sana rubbed her eyes and looked at the time. 1:30 in the morning.
"Who is that?" Her mom whispered to her dad.
"I don't know!" He shook his head.
"Yo! Minatozaki's! Open up!" A deep voice shouted from the other side.
Sana had never seen such a frantic look on her parents face before. It made her stomach fall to the floor.
"Honey, go take Sana to our room." Her dad whispered and her mom quickly guided her to their room.
As her mom searched around the room, the loud knocks and occasionally demands could be heard. Sana's mom put on a brave face in hopes to make a daughter feel safer.
"Take this and go in here!" Sana was handed a small box as her mom moved the dresser to reveal a door.
"But mom-," Sana started to cry as her mom quickly shoved her in the tight space.
"Everything will be ok! Don't worry! We'll finish the movie later ok?" Her mom smiled and closed the door. Sana could her the dresser being moved back in its spot.
The space was fairly small but big enough for Sana to comfortably sit in. However, she was on edge the entire time. She nervously sat as she started to here footsteps in the house.
"WHERE IS SHE?" Sana heard Chikage yell followed by her parents speaking. Hell nooooo. Surely her missing the "dinner date" shouldn't have made him that upset right?
The arguments continued back and forth for a while until a gunshot was heard, followed by 3 more.
Sana's stomach dropped as she quickly covered her mouth. Maybe she imagined the sound? Tears started to fall from her face as she just heard silence.
"...mom?" Sana voiced shook as she tried to bring herself together.
"Do you see anything in here?" A raspy voice entered the room.
"Go ahead and tear it up. Take anything you want." Sana recognized Chikage's voice.
For what felt like hours, she could hear things being knocked over or broken. The people raided her house and all she could do was sit in silence and hope for the best.
Finally the men left, and Sana still had tears streaming down her face. She couldn't tell if the silence was worse than hearing the men. She then heard the sound of a radio and thick boots entering the apartment.
"Looks like the place has been raided." She heard someone say into a radio.
"HEY! Someone help! I'm in here!" Sana started to yell and beat against door.
The police pulled her out of the small space and told her to close her eyes as the led her out of the vicinity.
"Must've been a home invasion. Luckily the daughter is safe." Sana heard a younger Mike sigh as she sat on the curb. However, the two never realized that it would be the first time that they met.
She finally opened up the small box to reveal a handful of cash, the pack of donuts, and a photo album.
Nothing could describe the emptiness that Sana felt. It was like her entire world just burned up, leaving her in an empty space of nothingness.
"Excuse me, do you have other family members to contact?" An officer approached her.
"No." She replied with taking her eyes off the photo album.
