Chapter 2- Welcome to the squad

~Y/n's POV~
"Are you fucking serious?" I questioned Mike and he rolled his eyes at me.

"No cursing! Anyways she clearly has the skills and intelligence!" He said and Sana nodded her head eagerly.

"Sir I would love too! I don't have a stable job anyways!" Sana exclaimed and genuinely seemed excited.

"You can't just make an irrational decision!" I protested and David flicked my head.

"Y/n trust Mike! He's been here longer then both of us." David said as he wrapped his arm around me. I grimaced before agreeing with them.

January 6th, 1997

"Ok Sana, you are required to answer this test and atleast score an 87% to pass." Mike said as he handed Sana the test and a pencil. Sana was in the room where we interrogate people and we watched from the outside.

"Are you ready Miss Sana?" Mike asked and she nodded.

"You May begin."

We watched as Sana seemed finished the test in 30 minutes. There's no way she'll pass. How can someone pass a 50 question test in 30 minutes?? Sana smirked as she handed us the test.

"Am I am officer now?" She smirked and I frowned at her.

"Not yet hooker, you need to pass the physical test too." I interjected and she frowned before smiling at me.

"I think I can manage..." she smiled as she got up in my face. I blushed a bit and pushed her nose back. I heard Mike, David and Sana laugh while I covered my face.

We stood in the track field at the nearest highschool waiting for Sana's test to start.

"Are we even allowed to be here Mike?" I questioned and he paused before turning to me.

"That's a good question I have no idea." He blankly said before blowing the whistle for Sana. I scoffed on how she had a full face of make up with a mini skirt and wedges.

"Alright Minatozaki you have 60 seconds to do atleast 40 pushups, 60 seconds to do atleast 40 sit-ups!" Mike shouted and blew the whistle.

Sana struggled to do push-ups and only did 15 of them and only did 28 sit-ups. She then failed to drag the body and belly crawl. If that's how athletic she is there's no way she pass the rest of the test.

"Well hooker I think your time is up." I smiled as I patted her back. She huffed before getting close to my face.

"Whatever you say Brooklyn." she smiled and tapped her finger on my nose before going over to Mike. Damnit why does she keep doing that?

We headed towards an abandon warehouse with a back alley. All Sana needed to do was chase down a criminal in the warehouse. We gave Sana an empty gun with a vest over her unprofessional outfit and David posed as a criminal.

"Your time starts now." Mike said as me and him watched from a camera placed in the warehouse. Sana chased after David pretty quickly for her to be in wedges. David pushed down a shelve but Sana slide over it and got back on her feet. Mike clapped as I gasped. Maybe I underestimated her?? David was going to the alley, so Mike and I headed that way to see the action in person.

Mike and I stood out waiting for the two. Mike jumped out the window and Sana quickly followed. She landed perfectly on her feet even with wedges on.

"Got ya." She playfully said as she pointed the gun at David's face. Mike smiled while clapping his hands and David gave Sana a hug.

"Totally tubular Sana! How'd you do that with wedges on?" David asked Sana and she gave a shrug.

"I don't know guess it runs in the family." She said nonchalantly. I stood in amazement. Would this make up for her like totally failing the strength test?

"Sooooo Mr. young did I pass?" She asked mike and he tried to hide his smile.

"So far yes but we just need to see your gun skills." He smiled and high fived her.

"Take my gun and aim at the O and the Stop sign." Mike said and pointed to a stop sign a couple of yards from us. Sana grabbed the gun and shot at the sign 5 times. We looked and low and behold. There were 5 shots directly at the O.

"Congrats Sana. You passed." Mike said as he handed her a gun.

"Even though I failed strength wise?" She asked

"But your agility out does the rest of us, not to mention your ability to do all of this in heels." Mike said and David chimed in.

"Yeah and plus your pretty smart and quick with great aim!" He smiled as Sana gave him and Mike a hug. I walked over to them and gave Sana a pat on the back.

We drove back to our department to make the announcement of Sana joining our team. As we got in the car Mike turned on the radio as he claims he can't drive without music. If it isn't love by New Edition came on and I started to sing along with Mike and David. Sana laughed before joining in.

"Do you guys do this everytime?" She questioned

"If only you're driving with Mike. It's normal to have him play music loudly in every car ride." David responded as Sana nodded her head.

"I have an announcement everyone!" Mike yelled as he entered the department. Everyone in there looked at us as we entered with Sana.

"The 77th precinct just gained a new member. Please welcome Sana..."

"Minatozaki." Sana added

"Yes Sana Minatozaki!" Mike yelled before I seen a strange expression come across his face.

"Anyways! She will be the new partner of one of our best members, Y/n kawahara!" He said and I gasped and stared at him intensely.

"But Mike I don't need a partner..." I said through my smile but he ignored me.

"Minatozaki... where have I heard that..." Mike mumbled to himself as he walked away.

Sana then came over to me and wrapped her arm around my shoulder.

"Are you excited partner?" She smirked and made a kissy face.

"Ugh gag me with a spoon." I bluntly said and started to walk to my desk.

"Brooklyn, you know you like me..." she said in a singing voice. I rolled my eyes. I'll never like this girl. Never ever ever.

"You guys better get along quick because your next case is coming up soon." Diana said as she placed down a file of papers. We looked and it read San Clemente.
