~Y/n's POV~
"Afterwards I survived on promising men favors but I quickly learned how to make the money without doing anything out of my comfort zone."
"So like when we first met?"
"Yeah, but majority of times, I can play damsel in distress or kick their ass. Either way I still get the money." Sana made a dry laugh and it went silent.
"Sana..." I had no words to say. How does one properly respond to this??? I want to comfort her but it wouldn't feel sufficient.
"I can tell you're finding an appropriate way to respond." Sana slightly smiled while watching my every move.
"It's just... if I knew it was like that I wouldn't have been so aggressive at first." I sheepishly said while hiding my red face.
"No it's fine, I should've been open about this. It's not good to hide things."
"NO! Everyone has the right to keep some things secret, especially something as traumatizing as that." I hid my face in my hands. I feel like an asshole now.
"Well it would've been solved faster if I didn't keep it to myself." Sana also put her face into her hands, "I've been looking for Chikage for years, trying to find those connected to him but it's so hard."
"Well since the hangwoman mentioned someone named Brendon, he must be connected to Chikage right? He knows your name."
"I meannnnn that's a stretch." Sana made an unsure face.
"But get this! She mentioned being in debt and him paying it all off, but he turned against her and which led to her doing the killings for him!" I exclaimed.
"No shit. I need to talk to her." I could tell thoughts were racing into Sana's mind as her eyes were widened.
"Do you want to tell Mike and David? It would be easier if we had help from not just them, but the whole precinct." I suggested as I started to clean up the table.
"No. Mike already knows and I'll tell David myself. No one else should know. I don't want my business out like that." I nodded as it was understandable for Sana to feel this way.
"Let's head back. We've been out for 40 minutes." I got up and helped Sana up.
"Feels like it's been months." Sana smiled as she gave my hand a quick squeeze. Atleast in public spaces like this, Sana knew to keep physical touch to a minimum.

We headed back to the precinct and Sana went to talk to the hangwoman while I sat with Mike and David.
"She's been silent since you all left." Mike sighed in annoyance.
"Well she admitted to the crimes didn't she?" David replied.
"Yeah, but something tells me she's hiding more. This crime isn't as simple as we think." Mike said wisely.
"Hey guys I'm done." Sana walked to us with an indescribable look on her face. Was she relieved? Angry? Sad? Confused?
"Alright what did she say?" David got closer to Sana with a face eager to learn.
"You won't believe this, since it's a bit crazy." Sana took a deep sigh and started to explain everything.

"So we need to find Brendon Aikawa first?" David asked a question again for the nth time.
"Yes. He seems like he's very close to Chikage. He knows who I am."
"So it's like Chikage is the mastermind and Brendon must be one of his minions who holds a lot of power too." I added in.
"But are Brendon and Chikage the same person? It would smart of him to use multiple aliases." Mike interjected.
"True but she described Brendon as being in his early 20s and mentioned other people who looked similar to him. Chikage is nearly 40." Sana rebutted.
"It could be he recruits people who look very similar to him just to throw the authorities off." Mike added
"Right. And this hangwoman, Jalisa, also said that he's gonna be at the Hollywood Park Casino this weekend for business."
"Alright, we gotta lead then." David clapped his hands together, slightly startling Sana.
"We can talk about the rest of this later, but as of now, we do have a lead." Mike made the final confirmation.
After clocking out, I walked Sana out the precinct.
"Do you think Jalisa is telling the truth?" Sana asked in a quiet voice.
"Well... what more does she have to lose? Brendon betrayed her and now she could be facing life in prison," I shrugged hoping to reassure Sana, "we got this."
"But what if nothing happens. I've been trying to find this cursed man for years." Sana face turned into a pout.
"Yeah but now you have our help. 4 people is better than one."
"If you say so." She pressed her lips together and looked down at her feet.
"Don't worry. You will get your justice soon." I smiled at her and engulfed her in a hug. It felt weird to be the one initiating the move but she needed it.
Everything will go right for Sana as long as I am here.
