67|You'd Do Anything?

3rd person pov

Harry stepped out of the shop looking into his bag counting all of the boxes he got

He glanced up making sure he wasn't going to run into anyone but smirked as he saw Niall stepping out of a shop with suits lain over his arm

"Niall!" He shouted jogging over

Niall turned to his name and saw Harry his blood instantly boiled it was the first time he's seen Harry since Alexis told him she was pregnant

"Hey mate whatcha got there?" Harry asked motioning to the dress bags

"Just some tailored suits" he looked at the full bag in Harry's hand "what do you have?"

"Oh Alexis said she really wanted some of these little Japanese candies I just bought like 4 of everything she wanted" he shrugged

"4?" Niall questioned

Harry shrugged "she always gets really bad cravings right before her period so I'm just getting extras because I know she'll want them"

Niall that it was funny how he was so willing to grab her cravings (her pregnancy cravings) but he wasn't willing to be man enough to accept the fact he was going to be a father

"Good idea" Niall nodded "how is she?" He questioned "she seemed a little stressed last time we talked" he was curious to see if he's best friend would tell him about his 'pregnancy scare'

Harry nodded "Uh yeah" he shook his head "she's fine"

Niall bit his tongue from just calling Harry out he decided he'd press one more time if that didn't work he'd drop it "really? I've been worried it's really nothing serious?"

Harry looked around "you got a minute?"

"Yeah why?"

"Let's have lunch and I'll tell you what's up"

Niall nodded they walked to the food court and both of them got in line at the salad place Niall getting a tuna salad and Harry getting just a regular salad no meat of any kind

They sat "so?" Niall pressed

Harry sighed softly and prodded at his salad "so not too long ago Alexis told me she thought... she thought she was pregnant..."

"And?" Niall smirked "you're a father?" He said excitedly really just to show Harry he would have been happy

"No!" He laughed "no no no" he took a bite "she's not pregnant"

"Oh she went and got a test or...?"

"She went to her doctor" Harry said confidently

"Mm damn so that's why she's upset man I'm sorry, I know that must have been hard" Niall glared with deathly annoyance but his tone stayed upbeat and cheerful "getting your hopes up 'n all"

Harry shook his head taking another bite "it's fine" he shrugged "'em not upset"

"You're not?" He cocked a eyebrow

Harry looked up from his salad "no why?"

Niall shrugged "I mean you said you loved her and you know she wants kids and you know how happy and fulfilled she'd be if she had some, a baby with the love of your life? I mean who doesn't want that?"

"Not everybody" he answered completely unbothered

Of course that would be Harry's fucking answer and he wasn't wrong

Niall nodded "right" he rolled his jaw looking down at the salad he was yet to eat "I hope she doesn't leave you then"

Maybe that was too much

Harry jerked up to sit straight in his seat "what?" He hissed

"I mean she wants kids that's not something you give up easily"

Harry frowned deeply "she's not leaving me"

"You couldn't stop her" Niall argued

Harry shoved his fork down into his salad rather aggressively "she is not leaving me" he eyed Niall up and down "that is both a threat and a promise"

"If I recall correctly" he pointed at Harry with his fork "you said you'd have a baby if it meant keeping her" Niall understood you can't just make someone want a child

That's 100% true you can't force anyone to want to have a child, you don't need a child to be happy, and a child is not a means to hold together a relationship

Harry however was not necessarily against the idea of having a baby as he was the thought that he would fail that baby so he might as well not even allow himself the idea of wanting a baby (that was always his thought process)

"Yeah and I stand by that" Harry nodded

He gave himself little to no credit when it came to how much he's progressed as a person- both as an individual and as a partner, but he was now slowly letting himself go through the emotions

that pep talk with Alexis really stuck with him

"Good" Niall nodded taking his first bite "she was upset then huh?"

Harry nodded "she was but she's getting over it slowly but surely"

"Yeah well I couldn't imagine how upset she must be, specially since she wanted a baby with you" Niall was more than willing to push at Harry's buttons

Harry was starting to catch on to Niall's subtle distain "she hasn't told you any of this?" Harry questioned

"No I haven't had time to talk to her recently"

Harry nodded "well aren't you best friends? I figured she would have told you"

Niall tilted his head "jealous?"

Harry laughed "no no" he shrugged "I've got no reason to be because she's all mine" he took another bite

Niall laughed back "right and I've got Jennifer"

"Right" Harry nodded his phone rang he pulled out his phone "well speaking of the devil" he answered the phone "hey Baby girl"

"Hey Harry!" She said cheerfully "where you at?"

"I bumped into Niall while I was out so I'm having lunch with him"

"Oh tell him I said hi!" She chirped

Harry looked at Niall "she said fuck you" he smirked

"HARRY!" Alexis squeaked loud enough Niall heard it from across the table

"Tell her I said hi as well" he ate his salad

"What's up Baby?" Harry asked

"Oh I just wanted to know when you were coming home, that's all"

"I'll be there soon why? Do you wanna do something?"

"Well yeah I was gunna order pizza and I hoped we could watch a movie like a mini date"

Harry nodded "sounds good I'll be home in about 30 okay?"

"Okay!" She said excited "I love you!"

"I love you more Darling"
