"She's still out... no, they- they don't think it's going to help... they're not too hopeful."
A dull buzzing ran through Cameron's head, a quiet muffled voice piercing through the buzzing that had been there for a while, she wasn't sure for how long but it's all she remembered hearing now.
"I don't know Morgan, I'm still trying to figure out how to tell her if she does..."
Cameron tried to cling to that muffled voice that sounded like a dream, she tried to cling onto the smell of the surgical cleanliness, the faint breeze against her numb skin, the sound of subtle beeps she could have sworn had been there for a while, maybe forever just in the back of her mind.
"I'm not sure, I'm really not sure... the doctors said that-"
"A-Aaron?" She managed to open her eyes eventually but the room was empty, a hospital room with a buzzing harsh light above her, the conversation she had heard from earlier staying stagnant in her mind from when she was unconscious, or maybe it was never there- just the buzzing.
She forced herself to sit up, a wave of sickness falling over her and making her twist to throw up off the bed with a stinging in her side as she just about made it to the bin, her body aching as it slumped off the bed to the floor.
She felt a pain in her arm, a stinging as the IV popped out and blood started squirting at her.
"Uh oh" she whispered and tried to reach for the buzzer by her bed but passed out before she could touch it.
"I don't know Morgan, I'm still trying to figure out how to tell her if she does..."
Cameron woke up in the same empty room searching for that voice again, the IV back in her arm with a bandage around it.
"Oh shit wow- you're awake!" A voice she didn't recognise spoke from next to her, she turned and looked at the male nurse who took out her feeding tube.
Cameron's eyes darted down and saw his hands were on her, her gown was pulled up and he washed her now almost fully healed wound a just above the hospital shorts she was wearing.
Her body fell into a panic from his hands on her waist, this stranger so close to her, his skin touching hers and seemingly having undressed her upper body.
"P-Please stop touching me" she begged through breathless tears that automatically came.
"I'm just re-dressing you bandage and washing you, the nursing schedule changes at night- it's no big deal, just relax sweetheart" he rolled his eyes and went to continue touching her.
"P-please, please don't touch me" she winced in fear and tried to pull down her shirt.
"Listen darling, don't get all worked up I need to-" he went to touch her again but she filched.
"It's just my job, I'm not looking or anything- I mean I did look but can you blame me?" He shrugged and pressed the button, "look, if you're going to be a drama queen then I'll call the doctor. I really didn't think you would wake up if I'm honest, we all thought you were gonna be a long stayer."
"H-how long have I been asleep?" She weakly pulled the robe around her and top down, uncomfortable with the man who seemed awfully casual and made the kind of remarks that she couldn't fully process were uncomfortable until a few minutes later.
"I heard that you were brought in from the mountain's doctors in the emergency helicopter about 8 weeks now; your team requested that you be brought to their local hospital on the emergency copter which was a pain in the ass to find a free room- you woke up once but they weren't too sure if you'd make it, I heard you were put into a coma for a while, you've become quite a story around the hospital. Now can you stop struggling so I can pull your shirt up? It's just a body, I mean it's one of the nicer ones that I've washed around here since it's usually just old people in these wards but I won't tell if you won't" he winked in somehow the creepiest way.
