// Above is similar to Cameron's dress for later in the chapter- lemme know if these visuals are helpful :)//
"Do people just not know what commas are?" Cameron mumbled with frustration as she read through reports and corrected them, sat in her pyjamas late at night at Hotch's kitchen island as he chuckled and passed her a plate of vegetation risotto he had made for Jack when they got back from work a few hours before whilst Cameron stayed far too late at work until Hotch went back, having to physically take her out of the office to stop her doing work.
"You need to eat, and then you can go back to insulting people's grammar" he chuckled, walking around the island and plating a soft kiss on the back of her head as he wrapped his arms over her and swiped the files away before she could stop him.
"I was reading that" she smiled at him over her shoulder.
"You can read it once you eat something, the amount of times I've spotted you nawing on your pen within the last few hours is ridiculous" he took the files with a chuckle and placed them in her bag.
It had been a few weeks since Cameron was introduced back to the team, a few weeks since the cult case that almost resulted in the members being killed if Cameron hadn't stopped Emily going undercover- and it had also been a few weeks since her and Hotch had officially started 'dating' again, although neither of them felt as if they had ever stopped so they didn't feel the need to announce it to each other or anyone else, it just fell into it's natural place.
It had been met with mixed reactions at work from the accidental reveal in Reid's hotel room;
JJ had a clear judgment of them despite them being very professional at work still and not acting different than they used to, Reid had a similar judgement too- but for other obvious reasons.
Emily just kept trying to encourage them with jokes to 'make out' or little teases to show how happy she was, although surprised, to know they were together.
Garcia still couldn't quite believe it, forcing Cameron on multiple occasions to tell her and Emily everything and how it happened until half an hour into the conversations when she would ask 'so... is he good in bed?' and Cameron would go bright red and end the conversation as Emily burst out laughing with various teasing's after.
Rossi and Morgan were of course overjoyed for them but they had both known they wouldn't be able to stay apart for long- they were happy they could be together properly now.
Mateo Cruz was shocked when Cameron requested the forms to sign, a little disappointed when she said it was for her and Hotch, but there wasn't much he could do since it technically wasn't against the rules anymore in her position.
She had to explain to him that she wasn't actually married (although technically she was) like she had said to him when she first joined, going to explain to him the real reason she had said that and the fact she was technically married but he cut her off and told her it was okay, he assumed she had said that as a polite way to reject him and his subtle advances she was too oblivious to notice.
"Words don't even look like words anymore" Cameron yawned as Hotch took a seat next to her at the breakfast bar.
"That's because you've been staring at a screen and files the entire day whilst being on the phone and running around the office to get our case for tomorrow sorted out even though it's not your job" he gently rubbed her back with small circles.
"JJ doesn't like having to pick out the cases anymore, it makes her feel like less of an agent because it was her old job so I just don't want her to feel like she's not being taken seriously" Cameron shrugged and started eating her dinner after thanking him for making it, a feeling of unknown domestic butterflies in her stomach every time he made her a meal or surprised her with lunch at work because he cared- although he wasn't the best chef unless it came to a grill, but he tried and that's what counted to her.
