Chapter X: Sunset

Ty Lee skipped across the palace hall, she was going to tell Azula. She wasn't going to shy away or chicken out anymore. After talking with Iroh, she wanted to tell her, but she chickened out as usual. She needed to just do it, she was Ty Lee, after all, she could beat 10 benders by herself. She was strong, deadly, and brave... or. She couldn't say that could she? It wasn't her that was brave, it was Azula. But if that's true.. wouldn't she have said something to Ty Lee if she had the same feelings? Ty Lee stopped skipping abruptly and nearly tripped herself in the process. Iroh saw her stumbling and came to her aid before she fell. "What caused so much distress? You nearly fell!" Iroh said this with a bit of worry but mostly surprise in his voice. He must have just turned the corner to find Ty Lee almost falling on her face. She stood up and smiled awkwardly, "Sorry," was all she said, but Iroh wanted a bit more information. "Was it Azula?" He asked, she lost breath for a moment, then remembered he knew. "Um.. yes." Ty Lee said this a bit unsure of what was going to happen if she told him. "Are you worried about telling her? You're going to tell her today, correct?" He asked with a bit of enthusiasm in his voice. "Y-ye- I think so." She kind of diverted from saying yes.. a definite yes anyway. "You're worried, aren't you?" Iroh asked, she nodded, but then countered with a, "So what if I am? It's only normal to be nervous.. right?" She started strong but fell in the end. Iroh laughed but was also a little taken aback. "Sorry," she said and Iroh shook his head, "It's fine," he said, then smiled at her. "You'll be fine, why so nervous now anyway?" He asked, "I-I was just thinking that.. well. Azula is always so brave, and if that's true then why hasn't she said anything. If she felt the same I mean." Ty Lee's eyes darted around every which way in pure nervousness. Iroh chuckled, "No, she wouldn't have." He said, smiling at her, "Even the bravest person in the world has trouble admitting their feelings, especially if it's for a crush." He said the last bit while wiggling his eyebrows at her. Ty Lee laughed, she was truly grateful she knew Iroh, with his sage advice and funny comments. And.. yes his tea. "Thank you, so much." Ty Lee said with genuine love, she hugged him and he hugged her. Then, when the hug broke, he nodded at her, and she nodded back as if she was going on a mission. And in a way she kinda was, going up to Azula and telling her how she felt was scarier than anything she'd ever faced before. She breathed in deeply and then breathed out, then she began to march to the Asylum that Azula was still in. When she got there she was very, very nervous, but kept going anyway, when she got up to Azula's door she had to force herself to stay put. She opened her mouth to speak to the guards, but all that came out was a squeak. The guards looked at her confused, "Is there something wrong?" One of the guards asked, Ty Lee, who cleared her throat, "Yes, I um... I would like to visit Azula." She said and they nodded slightly, then one of them opened the door. She walked in to find Azula sleeping covered in blankets. "Do you want us to wake her up?" One of the guards asked, "No, that's fine, just a bit of privacy." Ty Lee said and they both nodded and closed the door. Ty Lee looked closer at Azula, but couldn't see anything but her head, because she was so covered in blankets. She laughed, she didn't expect that Azula would be so cold. Then her heart sank a bit, she must have been freezing in here last night, Ty Lee thought, she walked over and sat on the side of the bed. She shook Azula slightly, Azula moved around for a moment then opened her eyes to see Ty Lee. Azula smiled, then her eyes went wide and she pushed Ty Lee off the bed. "Ow!" Ty Lee said as she fell to the ground. "What was that for?" Ty Lee asked, but then saw Azula curled up with the blankets around her. "I'm sorry, did I scare you?" Ty Lee asked, now worried, "No... it's just.. I." Azula didn't know how to continue, so she didn't. An awkward silence took over, then Ty Lee spoke. "So, um.. what's up?" She asked, "Um.. not much... I was wondering if I could change." She said, "Oh, um.. sure!" Ty Lee said a bit embarrassed, then began to walk away, when she saw something. It was... Azula's pants? Ty Lee was confused, Azula never left a mess, and nothing else was out of place. She turned around, "Why are you-" Ty Lee couldn't finish before Azula laughed loudly, really loudly, louder than Ember Island. "Funny story!" Azula said extremely loudly her eyes darting around and sweat dripping from her forehead. "It's ok, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Ty Lee said, then she moved to pick up Azula's pants. "Wait! No!" Azula screamed accidentally letting the blanket drop as she tried to run and stop Ty Lee, too late. Ty dropped the pants and looked over, then realized Azula was half-naked. Ty Lee's eyes widened and she looked away, which explained the pants.. and the wet underwear in them. "Oh my god! Ty Lee, I-I..." Azula could barely continue, "It's ok. I am sorry for invading your privacy... I-I... I'm gonna leave." Ty Lee said and quickly jolted to the door and opened it, then snaked out quickly and shut it behind her. "No, wait!" Azula shouted, and fell to her knees and sighed.

Azula hurriedly cleaned up. She got changed quickly too and brushed out her hair. She sighed as she did this, catching knots and bunches with the brush as it raggedly went through her hair. She cursed herself again for last night. After her.. dream, she couldn't sleep like that. She just tossed her soaked close forgetting Ty Lee would be over tomorrow. Besides, she assumed she'd be up before noon, why wasn't she? She must have been worn out.. or something. She slammed her hand against the table as she pulled her hair again with her brush. She got up and tossed the brush to the ground, then ran over to her room and curled up in a ball. Azula wasn't sure how much time had passed there, minutes? Hours? Days? All she knew is that she heard a noise of rusty hinges scraping across the concrete wall. She looked up, then she saw Ty Lee. Ty Lee looked a little shy, she had a nervous and awkward smile on. She was still beautiful, Azula thought then cursed herself for thinking it. "I wasn't sure if you'd be back," Azula admitted in a small voice as if she was a child telling the same thing to her mother after being separated for a few hours. Azula felt weak and stupid, and.. embarrassed. "I-" Azula started to apologize for what happened, then Ty Lee put her finger to her lips to stop her. "I Love you!" Ty Lee shouted loudly and awkwardly, then Ty Lee's whole face turned a deep, deep, deep shade of red. A red only rivaled by that of the imperial robes worn by the Fire Lord, or that of the Fire Sages robes. It was almost ridiculous to see it on Ty Lee. However, such things couldn't be noticed by Azula at that moment. She was still recollecting herself from Ty Lee's finger being on her lips. Then, Ty Lee's words finally caught up to her; she blinked for a long minute. Then Azula looked up at a red, nervous, beautiful, and awkward Ty Lee, and she kissed her. Ty Lee, in the surprise of it all, flinched back a separated from Azula's lips. Azula, now red from embarrassment, felt worse from Ty Lee's harsh reaction. Azula began to recoil when Ty Lee's lips crashed into hers. Ty Lee kissed her so fiercely that Azula fell back onto the bed with Ty Lee laying on top of her. It was almost as if all this longing and want Azula felt for Ty Lee was forcing the kiss to continue. Then it felt as if all Azula's pain, sadness, and fear were being melted away into Ty Lee's lips. Not even the necessity of breathing dare stop a force of nature so powerful it rivaled the elements. This force was them, their kiss, their passion, love, and lust for one another. It was all so powerful it could have shaken the very floor, it even threatened to crumble the walls around them. Then, their longs so grievously deprived of air, they separated from one another. Both took deep gasps of breath trying to once again fill their longs. They continued to pant for a few minutes, both staring at each other as they did. Then finally, all of what had happened came hurtling at them once more. Ty Lee was on top of Azula, Azula's hands lay dangerously close to Ty Lee's butt. And my goodness they were close, not to mention the kiss, and Ty Lee said she loved her. Azula's eyes widened as Ty Lee hopped off of her and blushed even more fiercely than before. "I love you too." Azula gasped, realizing she hadn't said it yet, "You do? I mean, I guess that kiss should have made it obvious." Ty Lee sputtered out quickly with clear nervousness about her. "So, what does this mean?" Azula asked, "It means you're my girlfriend.. and I'm yours!" She said with a bit of playfulness in her voice, "I-I am? You.. are?" Azula wasn't sure what to say so she just stuttered. "Yeah.. i-if you want to be." Ty Lee said, "Yes!" Azula shouted, "O-of course I do!" Azula said again with pure honesty and no waver in her voice. Ty Lee, not expecting such a reaction, smiled and blushed at the same time. Then she kissed Azula on the lips once more, and this time she gave a whisper after the kiss. "I'll be back, so don't go dreaming of me again." She said, smiling seductively as she sashayed out the door. Making sure to wiggle her hips a bit more than usual. Did she know? No, just a lucky guess.. but Ty Lee had no idea how right she was. Azula thought, still awestruck by the events today had unfolded to her. She hoped tomorrow would be just as good, or at least just as passionate.
