It would be overstatement to say that the next weeks went good. Or even okay. There wasn't any texts. There wasn't even a word if it wasn't about their work. And about work. Jughead had asked him few own cases so they worked on their own for those few weeks. They enjoeyd their lunches with Carla and Joel, but those two were the ones who led the conversations and were the talkers. They had their Thursdays too, but once again, Betty and Jughead stayed silence about any private matters.
After first few days had past and Betty noticed things had changed she was pissed. But then she heard Veronica's voice in her head and she decided that Jughead didn't matter. She was gonna go on her life and if this is it, then it is. She filled her days with different kind of activities and she went shopping and she even went out with Veronica on one Friday. That night she didn't wanna find a hookup though, it was only the night for the dance and drinks.
And because everything was enough difficult like this, it was nearly Thanksgiving. And that time of the year, well, it brought up some memories.
Just before Thanksgiving on Wednesday on their lunch break everyone was talking about their favourite food of this particular holiday. And Betty did then a mistake. She asked plans for the rest of the week. Her Thanksgiving would be with Veronica and Cheryl so she didn't think the conversation would have so huge consequenses.
"Me and my brother are going to camping, we do that every year," Joel told snd went on then the whole plan. "I go to Boston to my mom. It's nice, cozy and quiet. So Jones, what about you, friends or family?" Carla continued, but that was the wrong question. Jughead stood up and threw his food to the trash which was behind him. He was upset and looked at Betty with anger in his eyes, they looked like they were black.
"Thank you very much Betty. For fuck sake!! We managed to survive almost three weeks without bringing these kind of stuff up. And you must knew it. This fucking holiday. And all that other shit. I don't have nothing to say about my plans. It is non of your business. Betty you don't have any right to take any intrest of my Thanksgiving plan. You made and you still make my life very difficult. See you at the office," he snapped to Betty and walked away huffing.
No one talked after that. Joel and Carla understood that it was time to give some space. They will talk about it little later, they knew that. Maybe not today, but someday.
And Betty, Betty just tried not to cry. It was the first time in seven years she heard Jughead's pissed voice. She hated that. It was so cold, it always sounded so hurtful, for her but you could hear he was hurt too. It hurt her in every way and in every point of view. So much. And mostly because she was once again feeling all the quilt she had somewhere deep inside her. And as she walked to their office in silence, she thought about the last time she heard Jughead speaking like that.

Hello Elizzzzabeth Cooper. This is your exxx-boyfriend speaking. You might remember me, I'm the one who has still been your friend after you acted like a shit. Yessss, I was very cool but now I realize you don't maybe deserve me as your friend. And you know whatttt? It took me some time but now I have officially replaced you. Why would I ever think only one person would be enough? I started to explore my options and I don't know if I'll ever stop, ssssex is so fun! Maybe I get it now why you wanted to try Arch, it's really obvious now. We were boring. So thank you I guess. For making me realize it is time to move on and try all those better things waiting for me. Because let's be honest, there already was and there will be so many girls better than you. Just so you know.. and happy thanksgiving! Also, fuck you.
