Light was slowly starting to lose itself outside when they all decided to call it a day. Cameron and Cate had gone out to buy drinks for tonight while everyone kept themselves busy around Blake's family house, and there was no denying the fact that the interior itself was something out of a movie.

Granted it's only been a few hours, but Emery was starting to grow accustomed to this place the more he busied himself looking around.

It greeted them with the familiar sense of home, courtesy of the staircase wall well adorned with pictures of Blake and his cousins through the years. The living room was next to the kitchen, which you can both see from outside through the glass wall. Emery noticed the touch of Blake's Korean heritage as he carded through the pile of books on the top drawer by the stairs, humming just as Bryce came out of the kitchen holding a plate of cherries.

"Ian, I found cherries!" he said proudly as Asher snuck behind him to snatch a couple to his mouth and a few more in his pockets before plopping himself on the couch. He scowled at the thief. "Hey! Finders keepers."

"Whiners losers," Asher replied with a grin.

"When's the food gonna get here?" Emery questioned, looking up from Blake's elementary grad pic to find the rest of his friends engrossed in their own little worlds. Blake was in the living room next to Asher, the latter trying to keep him off his stolen cherries while Allison flipped through the TV channels to pass time while waiting for her phone to finish charging, laughing every time Blake manages to piss her brother off. Ian and Bryce sat across from each other by the drink table at the corner of the room, enjoying a glass of orange juice and whatever's left of Bryce's food.

"Ten, twenty minutes," said Blake as he checked the time on his phone, cherry stem hanging from his lips. "Why, are you hungry?"

Emery wasn't cruel enough to admit that he was bored, so instead, he nodded, stretching in his seat. "Kinda."

"There's one pop tart left in the kitchen," Blake offered but was cut off when Asher waved his hand.

"Nope, I ate that."

"Pig."

"What? I didn't have breakfast."

"Why? 'Cause you're stupid?"

Emery watched the two rumble again while Allison ceremoniously assisted Blake in pissing her brother off with every chance she gets. He looked around, wondering what else they could do on this beach for the next ten weeks aside from listening to the sound of the screws going loose in Asher's head.

"We can surf," Asher blurted out, startling Emery until he realized Ian had asked the same thing while he was spacing out. "Have you guys met Lucas?"

"You mean the hunk with the sick tattoos?" Bryce muttered, tone dull as he gave Ian a look from under his eyebrows before popping a cherry in his mouth. "Yeah, we met him."
