A/N: I don't put author's notes at the beginning of my chapters, but if I have to make an exception, it has to be for this. If you guys can read through 4000 words of teenage angst, then you can spare a few minutes of your time to hear me out, or better yet, learn about what's happening in Palestine right now.

I'm twenty years old. I'm a medical technology student. I write stories and go out with my friends on weekends. It hurts me that I get to do all these things while somewhere in Gaza, there is a child who will never be my age. Somewhere in Gaza, there is a college student like you who will not make it to her graduation. Somewhere in Gaza is a child, who deserves what you and I have: to sit in the comfort of their homes, without having to worry that a bomb might strike them at any second. It pains me that it's taking so much effort and so much debate and way too much aggression to convince those who hold power that what's happening to the Palestinians is NOT OKAY. Murdering innocent people WILL NEVER BE OKAY.

I come from a country that was brutally colonized for 300 years, and even though I never lived through the pain of my ancestors, I know what happens when people turn a blind eye to history and oppression, and we can't let that happen in our time. We can't let those in power make fools out of us, not when we have free access to information, literally just one click away.

I know I don't have the qualifications to talk about something I just learned about a few weeks ago, but you don't have to be an expert on politics to be human. This is not just a standpoint I'm trying to defend. This is not an opinion. This is what it should be for everybody.

While we can't be there and lend our hands to the people of Gaza, all it takes is a single click to donate. You can find some charity links in my bio, and if you know of any more organizations, the comments are always open! Even something as simple as sharing or reposting articles, tweets, TikToks; literally anything that can aid in the propagation information about what is happening to the Palestinians, can already be extremely helpful! So please do what you can to help. If I can, you can too! #FREEPALESTINE

Thank you so much. Enjoy the chapter!

There was a point in the car ride to the grocery store where Cameron had to question whether he was doing the right thing or he was overdue for a fucking lobotomy.

His nose was as stuffed as the turkey they had for Thanksgiving last year, but the thought of seeing Emery again filled what little space he had left in his brain, leaving no room to consider whether or not this was a bad idea. Cate trying to talk him out of it multiple times should've been a sign, but he couldn't bring himself to make a rational decision when all he'd been thinking about the last four days was seeing Emery again.
