Chapter 45 Ambush

Day went fast now it's nightfall cold as it was very hard to keep the campfire alive but I did it. Yanie is still knock out but she looks better the poison is gone. The purple line that was spreading disappears so I'm guessing that's good. Staring at the pile of meat in front of her I know if that meat stays like that any longer it will spoils. "Yanie" I call to her shaking her face wanting to see her awake. "Yanie wake up" The Stubborn dragon gives me a light growl before opening her eyes.

I smile at her It reminded me of Yang every time we have to go to school. Soon that smile turns into a frown as an aching pain in my chest reappears. It hurts to know she's gone but I will get revenge and avenge her death no matter what. Yanie notice my change of aura as she leans in popping me on the face. "Eat," I told her pointing at the food Yanie didn't even bother to look at it as its eyes are stuck to me.

"I'm fine just eat...please" she gives it a second before started to munch on the meat. She eats it fast as she was starving "can you walk?" Yanie Licked her mouth getting rib of the bloodstains. She slowly started to stand up letting out a little growl from the pain. Now she stood there fully stand "how's your leg? Still hurts?" I question placing a hand on her leg Yanie shook her head said no. "Good" we started to make our way to the mountain. I could feel my anxiety raising knowing Emilia's team is near.

I just hope this will go well or maybe I could convince them to not attack Yanie. or hurt her in any way. Over the past few days, I have realized I have developed strong feelings for her. Feelings that I wanted to be buried by the loss of Yang. Glancing back at the majestic dragon she slowly reminds me of her.

Her golden hair, those beautiful purple eyes that remind me of all those nights just staring at them. Her stubbornness and caring personality. Stop it that's not her I mentally reminded myself slapping my checks trying to get rid of those thoughts. Only to find out that I'm still wearing my mask, I haven't noticed it since all that happened.

The dragon looked down at me wondering why I have slapped myself. "I'm fine," I told the dragon who just nudge its body towards me. I'm just shocked that the mask lasted this long. Did the dragon pick me because I have fake horns on it? Reaching up I have my hand on top of my mask feeling the cold horns. A signal of a reminder of her and get revenge for her death.

The dragon push over a fallen three making a path for me. I looked back at the mountain to see we're very close. Emilia is somewhere hidden away from the dangerous creatures, I suppose. We're on top of a cliff the beginner to get to the mountain. It's high enough for a human to die or have a severely injured but for a dragon, it's just like a spring ankle. A bush started to rustle making the dragon get high alert.

"It's probably a deer," I told the dragon wanting her to calm down. "Nope, it's me" Emilia walking out of the bush with a smile. Weirdly the dragon got calm looking down at the brunette girl. But soon got all aggressive when some of her men reveal themselves. The people got scared not knowing what to do, they all pointed their guns at the dragon. Making everything worse.

"Put the gun down!" I commanded them placing a hand on the dragon trying to calm her down. It did not help as she lower herself digging her mighty claw into the ground. "She's not gonna hurt you if you just put the gun down" Emilia place her hand on one of her men's guns lowering it making the others do as well. Then she places her hand behind her ear and made a face. Worried and hurt, trembling she places her hand on her gun holster pulling out and pointing at the dragon.

"Emilia stop it" I order her seeing her shaking "I can't," she told me then aim at me and shoot. The dragon's fast reaction shields me from those bullets. "You okay?" the dragon looked down at me and give a goofy smile before turning to them. She flapped her mightly winds making a strong force of air blowing everyone away.

As soon the dragon stops seeing everyone down knock out by hitting a tree or a rock. Five men came out each side of us throwing chains at the dragon trapping her there. They all pulled the chains making Yanie lower herself to the ground. "Stop it!" "We can't it's an order" Emilia came behind me grabbing me pulling me away from Yanie. "Your orders not mine," I told her yanking my hand away running towards Yanie. "I can't let you do that" I heard Emilia pulled out her gun aiming at me.

"Fine" I grabbed my broken katana waiting for her to stand down. Emilia started to shake before pulling the trigger. I use the Katana to deflect it and ran towards her. Emilia started to shoot trying to stop me as I dodge or deflect all those bullets. When she ran out that when I strike. Twisting my katana sideways getting ready to slash her stomach. Emilia pulled out her second gun using it to block my attack.

She lifted the gun making my katana raise as well. I back away not knowing she could twist the gun and shoot me. Emilie quickly reloads her other gun and starts to shoot. I started to do Gymnastics dodging all those bullets. When I jumped doing a twisting I reach in pulling out my throwing knives and throw them at her. Emilia is a good gun shooter she shot them all except one that just hit her leg.

As soon as my feet touch the ground I sprint towards to her. Placing the katana at my side getting ready I swish it aiming it up ready to slash her upwards. Emilia uses her gun again and blocks it breaking the gun in half. With her one gun down I swish the position of my katana and strike again. Emilia with the right gun she blocks it pushing it away from her. Then she kicked the back of my leg making me knee.

Wrapping an arm around my neck as the other grabbed a hold on my katana. "Stop it" Emilia whisper to me tightening her grip "I can't control it" I looked at her in the corner of my eye worried then look at Yanie. Emilia's warrior has this weird-looking spear, the pierce at her side making the dragon growl in pain. It inrages me, I use the hand that was pulling Emilia's arm so she wouldn't chock me. Grabbed the throwing knives that were stuck at her leg. Pulled it out and stab at her side making her let go, I turn around and use both of my legs to kick her away.

I grabbed her good gun and started to shoot the people who have the spears. Watching each one of them fall to the ground stain the white snow with red. I looked back at Emilie seeing getting up pulling a battle knife behind her back. She ran towards me, I pulled the gun away and waited for her to get close. When she's close enough I kicked the knife out of her hand turn around to use my other leg to kick her chest.

Emilia quickly grabbed her knife threaded to stab my leg. I pulled away twist then kicked her face making her splash the snow with blood. I turn to Yanie seeing her looking back at me "Do It!" with that The dragon raises her head took a deep breath and blows fire at everyone. The people who were holding her in place got caught on fire letting her go.

Now she's able to move Yanie ran towards to me biting down at the back of my jacket. Lifting me up as she ran towards to the cliff. "Uh, Yanie" I called her hearing people yelling at us as guns were being loaded. "Yanie you can't fly!" I told as she jumps off the cliff spreading her wings wide. Then she flaps attending to fly it took a second before she is successfully flying up in the air.

I'm not a big fan of heights but it's quite pretty. Yanie flys all the way then took a turn towards the mountain.
