Dilucs face flushed red with anger, he clutched his hands together, avoiding Y/ns gaze. He sat upright against the bed while y/n just stared at him dumb founded.

There was a quiet tension resting between the two and Y/n had no idea what had gotten into him.

"-uh, Diluc?" she asked, reaching a hand outward to touch his shoulder, but it was firmly stopped by Diluc catching her wrist tightly in his palm and pushing it in the air.

Finally, he looked up at her, his eyes lit up in a fiery rage, she could practically feel the heat radiating from the man in front of her, "What the hell are you doing fraternising the Fatui?" He asked, a little too loudly, his hand still gripping on to her wrist. Y/n stammered for a moment, trying to wriggle out of his grasp which he only broke away when he noticed y/ns fingers growing pale from the blood loss.

Y/n was confused, A ginger fatui boy? She thought for a moment, trying to remember such a man until it finally dawned on her the boy who had lead her through dragonspine many months back when Diluc abandoned her in Liyue. The memory of that day causing her to clutch her fingers to her palm, the feeling of Dilucs behaviour flooding back to her once again. Yes, she had forgiven him long ago, but in the moment, anything was bound to make her angry.

"Whats it to you? You wont even call me your girlfriend!" she scowled at him crossing her arms to mirror the man, "I mean, weve lived together for 8 months now, and anytime I bring up us you change the subject, what right do you have to tell me who I can and cannot talk to?"

She had been thinking about this for a while, and even though its best to not let things boil up, but she couldnt stop herself from thinking that Diluc was either ashamed of her or didnt feel the same way about her as she did him.

Diluc rose from his seat and marched towards y/n until her back firmly hit the wall, she didnt wince under him though, she stood her ground, far too angry to let this one slide. They stared at each other for a while, Diluc's arms pressing on the wall behind y/ns head, he broke the silence, "Thats besides the point, fatui are scum. Hanging out with them makes you no better than my enemy." He spat and moved his body away from the girl.

"Enemy?" she sighed, trying to hide how much hearing him say that hurt her. He hadnt even given her a chance to explain herself, she couldnt bare it when Diluc was such a hot head, especially since most of the time she was just as stubborn as him. "You know Diluc, sometimes you can be really cold hearted." She frowned, hesitated for a moment to wait for a response, but when he said nothing, she headed straight for the door.

Downstairs a group of maids were huddled around the familiar face of Childe, who was showing off his knife while all the maids gazed to him in awe. It was mid-morning, so the house was pleasantly lit up by sunlight and Childes face beamed from all the attention.

"Ah, good morning comrade," he smiled as his eyes caught y/n walking down the stairs, she had done her best to compose herself and reciprocated the gesture back, giving him a polite wave. "I was running some - errands - in Mondstadt when I thought I would drop by, a girl named Amber told me I could find you here."

Childe continued to ramble on for a while about his journey here until y/n felt a hot presence staring down at her from behind and the room suddenly turned very tense.

"Oh, I didnt realise you wer-"

"Were not." She cut him off, "what did you need Childe?" It was almost like the temperature in the room was getting hotter by the second, and she could see that Childe was distracted by the man behind her.

When she approached Childe, he bought his attention back to her, "Oh, well Id like to invite you to lunch." He grinned, holding his arm out as an offering for her to take it.
