Chapter 18 - wedding

Y/n had spent the last 24 hours trying to help Amber organise and plan her wedding which was happening at extremely late notice. She had organised the food, the napkins the music and was just about done when Eula came over and pointed out everything they had done wrong. So by time she had gotten home to the winery she was desperate to find her boyfriend and hug him till she fell asleep.

Since they became 'official' Diluc had made sure all the maids left the building by 7pm so that they could have the house to themselves without disturbance. Y/n was very greatful for this, especially after the head maid had walked in on Diluc and her that one time in the kitchen...

She made her way to their bedroom and peered in to see a distracted Diluc staring down at the book she had recommended him from the library. His lips were parted as he relaxed against the bedframe, the side lamp lighting up his eyes causing them to sparkle ever so slightly.

"Hey my love." She walked in, taking off her jacket and hanging it against the door. Diluc was so engrossed in his book that he didn't even hear her come in and she sighed leaning against the door frame and taking off her work clothes.

She walked over to him, noticing how his eyebrows furrowed as he flipped the page. She smiled to herself, walking to his side of the bed and slowly falling to his lap, climbing under his arms so that she was lay completley ontop of him but he could still see his book, and she placed a kiss to his jaw.

"Oh- y/n!" He gasped, moving his book to the side and wrapping his arms around her waist to support her against him. "I didn't see you come in." He moved her hair away from her ear and returned the kiss to her cheek, enjoying that her comforting sent had returned.

When she was away from home, sometimes Diluc found it hard to concentrate on his work, because he missed the safety that her presence brought to him. He preferred it when they were working together from the winery, him writing business letters and her writing up library book returns and shipment details. But he also loved the feeling he got when they were finally reunited after spending time apart.

She collapsed against his body, weaving her arms underneath his back and burying her head into his shoulder.

"Tough day?" He stroked her hair as he spoke.

"Mmm." She was happy that she now had a human to come back to, her cat kaneki had also moved into the winery with them a few weeks after Diluc returned from the hospital since it felt more suited now to call this place home, and she had stopped looking for houses in Springvale all together.

Kaneki loved the open fields, and she often saw him playing in the woods with that wolf boy razor. And it seemed like the three of them made a perfect trio.

"You want me to read to you my darling?" He asked gently, she often asked Diluc to read aloud to her before bed simply because she liked his voice, but he would always get flustered and nervous that he ended up stumbling over the sentences which y/n found extremely cute. Even now she could feel his heart beating a little faster against her.

"Yes please!" She heard him turn the page and begin to start reading, she closed her eyes and imagined the world that Diluc was creating with the words and before she knew it she was falling asleep against him.

When she woke up she was no longer on top of Diluc but tucked neatly inside the blanket. She rubbed her eyes and stretched her self under the covers. There was lots of mumbling from downstairs, and then a cluster of footsteps hurried up to the room.
