The names of two foes are randomly selected per match. The electronic signboard rolls through the names until it displays two names, Akado Yoroi vs Uchiha Sasuke. With the first match set, everyone else is asked to leave the arena. Hanai walks back to the Hokage, and together she and the old man go to the highest floor.
On the left side of the arena, the other village shinobi stand, such as Suna, the right side is occupied by Konoha. Hanai keeps a stoic expression as she looks at the battle between Sasuke and Yoroi. Two Konoha shinobi with drastically different skill sets. She leans on the rail, her arms cross over the metal bars.
Sasuke Uchiha had won his match, controlling the cursed seal in the process. Hanai couldn't help but think of the cruel Sannin, who is playing Konoha. His most conspicuous characteristic is his snake-like appearance: pale-gray skin, golden eyes with slitted pupils, purple markings around his eyes, and fang-like teeth. He also has pronounced cheekbones and straight waist-length black hair with some locks covering and framing his face or to his shoulders.
Growing up in Konoha, she's lucky to never have felt the intensity of his killing intent, which can reduce most foes into a state of petrified fear. What made him twice as terrifying is his advance ability to absorb chakra through physical contact, which also grants him their skills and knowledge.
She gulps, mentally preparing herself for what was coming ahead. Her thoughts and clouded fears are quickly aired out, as she spots Kakashi coming back. She couldn't help but curl into a smile as she gazes at the younger-silver-hair Jonin walking towards Naruto and Sasuke.
Abumi Zaku vs Shino Aburame — Winner: Shino Aburame
Misumi Tsurugi vs Kankuro — Winner: Kankuro
Haruno Sakura vs. Yamanaka Ino — Draw
Tenten vs. Temari — Winner: Temari
Shikamaru Nara Vs. Tsuchi Kin — Winner: Shikamaru Nara
Naruto Uzumaki vs. Kiba Inuzuka — Winner: Naruto UzumakiEach battle proved to be very interesting. Shino had won his match through the deceptive use of his destructive bugs Jutsu. Kankuro easily wins his battle by tricking his opponent to attack his wooden puppet, a weapon used by puppeteers. Sakura's and Ino's battle started off a little slow, both unable to take the battle seriously due to their complex friendship dynamic. In the end, neither candidate advanced to the final stage, both rivals knocking each other out in one climactic punch. Temari's win was close to turning into a bloodbath, even after being declared the winner of the match, she threw Tenten off her iron fan in an attempt to have her land on the weapons scattered on the floor. Much to her relief, Rock Lee had intervened, catching his teammate.
All the adults knew by now, that the Sand Siblings are not ordinary level Genin.
Shikamaru's match was next, he had won by knocking out his opponent. Naruto's battle against Kiba proved to be very interesting. A Genin who graduated with the lowest scores has the greatest desire to win and get stronger. Kiba fights with the assistance of a ninken, Akamaru, but despite the odds, Naruto wins the match.
Hyuga Hinata vs. Hyuga Neji
Hanai's face is tense at the match-up that is displayed on the monitor. "Are you sure these are random?" she asks the Hokage. He simply chuckles at her accusation as the two cousins are forced to face one another.
"Of course they are, I'm no cheater."
Hinata and Neji are cousins, part of the noble Hyuuga clan. The clan is separated into two parts: the main house, which Hinata is part of, and the branch house, which Neji is in. It's a system that protects the secrets of the clan's Kekkei Genkai from outsiders. The main house runs the family while the branch house protects it. Members of the branch house are branded with a cursed seal that gives the main house members absolute control over the branch members.
