It's a warm, oddly cherry at the Konoha cemetery. Many villagers, of all ages, gather with their lost-loved ones. Burning sage, warm water, and child laughter decorated the air. Waves of happiness and despair hugged Hanai's chest, as she spoke to two gravestones in one.
"Kakashi had yet to fully recover, but he was well enough to take on missions."
"Shikamaru, a kid under Asuma's care was promoted to Chunin."
"And Lee, remember him, Gai's student! Yeah, he decided to undergo the surgery to repair his body so that he can remain a shinobi."
"I just found out that they still don't trust me. I get it...I was a liar."
Her heart feels heavy and difficult. It's painful, but she needs to sit with this feeling. Despite the tension in the meeting, she has learned that Kakashi was given a mission to prove her disloyalty, and instead, he proved that Konoha can rely on her with confidence. The missing piece in the story has been filled, everything suddenly made sense.
Why they fell apart, why he was acting so weird at the time...
Kakashi had joined a darker side of the ANBU and hid that information from her, breaking her trust. Kakashi had tried to reassure her through words, but Kakashi's actions spoke louder to her, for he had allied himself with the man that had killed her family.
Is it selfish for her to think that he did that all for her? She needs to ask him.
Leaving the Konoha Cemetery, she's summoned to accept a mission from Tsunade. Although Konohagakure emerged victorious from the invasion, the village suffered numerous casualties. In order to keep up its previous mission-load and thereby avoid appearing weak, most of Konoha's Chunin and Jonin workload increase. Tasked to transport highly classified documents, a sealed green scroll was given to her. It will be a long wait till Hanai gets the opportunity to speak with the silver-hair shinobi.
She arrives at the main gate of the village with a cream-colored yucca slipped on her back. Luck is on her side. "Wow, what a surprise."
"Ah, hey Hanai..." His voice trails off, a mind trapped in a storm. He just stops by the hospital where Sasuke has been staying after his mission from the Land of Tea. Kakashi found his students, Sasuke and Naruto in the middle of combat, in which both Chidori and Rasengan were about to clash, managing to fling them apart.
Chidori is a Jutsu created by Kakashi, a high concentration of lightning chakra channeled around the user's hand. Once the chakra is gathered, users charge at their target and thrust the Chidori into them, piercing them and typically causing fatal damage. The Chidori requires a large amount of chakra to be performed, placing a limit on how many times it can be used per day, with Sasuke's max (under his own power), twice per day.
At the time, Sasuke needed this Jutsu. He was matched against Gaara, who has the ultimate defense with his sand. The best attack against earth-style defense is with lightning. On top of that, he was being targeted by Orochimaru. Kakashi's philosophy behind teaching him the Jutsu is that it shouldn't be used to protect, not hurt his friends.
Rasengan is a spinning ball of chakra formed and held in the palm of the user's hand, a Jutsu created by the Yondaime Hokage. On contact, the Rasengan grinds into its target, propels them along the Rasengan's trajectory - either away from the user or into the ground beneath them-and at some point bursts, causing severe damage at the point of contact. When Jiraiya and Naruto headed out to search for Tsunade, Naruto mastered the technique.
