5 minutes later// Location: Residential Room.

You stiffly stared at the bed which Ethan was casually sitting on, fidgeting with his bandaged hand as he stared out of the window.

He needed a normal place to sleep, and given you already took the bed yesterday and he had slept on the couch, you were fine with switching places. Adding a few pillows and cushions it would make for a comfortable place to rest on eitherway.

You eyed the soft furniture and looked back at the wooden closet. "Alright, let me just get some blankets and get ready for bed."

Ethan watched you take out multiple blankets and pillows out of the closet.

He still didn't understand why you were doing this for him. Sleeping on the couch wasn't strange to him at all, since him and Mia stopped sharing a bed a while ago. It's not like their relationship took a sudden strange dip in worsening either, they had already been going downhill gradually since Dulvey. Not that he blamed her for becoming distant, maybe he should've been faster in her rescue.

That's what he couldn't bear about you though, you never complained about anything-- even with his unstable need to convince himself of his loyalty to Mia, that had already started to fade over the days- you didn't vocalize any complaints about that either, which only knotted his heart and confusion deeper into eachother. Ethan always liked and adored you, and he tried making sure you knew that in the beginning. With each passing day though, it started to become different. His normal basic friendly liking to you had forged into something way stronger which almost felt unbearable at times.

Sounds of blankets being thrown on a couch perked his dazed attention over to you. "Wait-" He stood up and walked over to the couch you were already throwing pillows and thick sheets down on. "Are you sure you don't want to take the bed? I mean it's really no big deal, I'll be fine sleeping on the cou-"

You raised your hand in the air and shook your head. "I made my decision earlier. If you can't accept it..." With squinted eyes you gazed up at the ceiling, trying to come up with a reason that would get the tall blonde to stop. "Right," You smiled, dropping your gaze from the ceiling back to meet his grey-blueish eyes. "If you can't accept my decision normally, let's say you won a 'go to bed and have a good rest for free' card from your previous victory with the cards."

Ethan chuckled and shook his head. Just as he expected, you had denied and halted his offer. "Okay well, let's say I also won a 'stay up with the losing party and deny sleep for free' card." A sheepish smile flashed on his lips. "So, do you maybe want to stay up longer... with me?"

You placed another pillow down on the makeshift sleeping-spot. "What? But you can't win two gifts, that's ridiculous." At that Ethan took the small flowercrown from his head and placed it back into your hands. You almost forgot he had been wearing the crafted piece all this time.

"Oh yes you can, you handed me two gifts earlier-- oh." An unexpected smile tugged on his lips when you sighed and placed the flowercrown back down on his sandy blonde locks. The handwoven piece still managed to flush heavy amounts of seratonin through his body even though he wasn't a person to wear things like this at all.

"Okay, okay. You win, Winters. Hey that reminds me, your last name is Winters--"

"Y/n please."

You laughed at him and sighed. "Alright fine, we can stay up."

"--Only if you want to." Ethan added in, anxiously tugging at the loose strings of the distressed bloody bandage around his two missing fingers. You watched the fidgeting blonde and frowned. There wasn't much harm to be found in staying up a little while longer, right?
