Repetitive sounds of dripping water slowly woke you. You opened your exhausted eyes with a soft groan. Harsh moonlight blinded you for a second as your pupils had yet to adjust to everything.

You tried to move around but couldn't. You were tied to a stone altar with your hands cuffed above your head. The stone slab you were laying on had started to make your back ache. With exhausted but alert eyes you tried to look around as much as you were physically able to.

You were in some type of underground cellar underneath the castle. The large skylight above you lets the full moon shine its normal cold gleam, bathing you in cool lighting. There were unsettling noises coming from the dark cellar around you.

I've got to get out of here.

You yanked at the cuffs, writing your pulses around to the point of bruising them.

"Awake already?" A voice echoed from far away. You looked toward the direction the sound was coming from.

Lady Dimitrescu and her three daughters walked through the long hall of the cellar, finally visible as the moonlight illuminated their figures.

"Y-- you people? W-what is this?" You stammered.

"Dear dear, you do tend to ask so many questions already." Lady Dimitrescu sighed.

Bela and Daniela put two grails on the stone altar you were laying on.

One grail was made from humble wood.

The other grail was a deep gold, adorned with multiple gems and stones.

"You have no idea how long we've waited for another pure Maiden. But that is not even all."

Lady Dimitrescu pulled out a sharp athame ritual knife. Its handle was from white marble stone, and the blade itself shone a brilliant silver.

"The Lunar bloodline has died out, correct?"

You shook your head with fear as she swayed the knife around nonchalantly. "I- I don't know. I don't even know where I am."

"WRONG." She yelled. The loud sound of her yells reverberated through the hall, making the sounds in the dark finally show themselves.

Multiple creatures with rags and sickle swords stumbled out of the shadows, shrieking a terrifying tune.

You felt a lump form in your throat as your heart started beating faster. You yanked at your chains once more.

"As long as you don't scream or escape they won't come after you." You gave her a terrified nod, watching as the creatures slowly retreated to the shadows. Your eyes darted back down to the knife she was still holding.

"It's apparent that out of the multiple Maiden's raised by the townfolk, there was one out of place." Lady Dimitrescu began. "And we have searched for so so long. The many young girls we sacrificed on this altar, just for their blood to be of normal villagers' descent."

"Y- you murdered them? For nothing?"

Daniela giggled and ran her nail over your cheek.

"Of course, their blood wasn't wasted. Don't you worry."

Your stress and fear raised to a point where sweat started to break out on your forehead. "But- I'm not from the Lunar bloodline. I swear, I'm just a normal Maiden, raised by-"

"Mary." Lady Dimitrescu cut in.

Your eyes widened at the drop of her name. "I'm not stupid, girl." She clawed at your collarbone, yanking up the necklace The Duke had given you.
