Strategizing

The next morning after breakfast, we sat in the living room, watching picture slides which Reuben excitedly showed us of his Cuban upbringing while on the island. When, without provocation, Alejandro's mood changes. His head snaps towards the doorway, releasing a growl. "Bitch alert. I smell her." A minute later, Teresa knocks.

At Teresa's knock, heads and eyes turn. All except my son-in-law, Reuben. Remaining, sitting on the floral-patterned bamboo sofa. Reuben's arm drapes across Alejandro's shoulder, keeping Alejandro next to him., pressing the clicker to change slides. Alejandro had picked up her scent first. So faint was it, Yonell & Rosa remained the only ones unable to smell her.

Preparing to answer the door, It is then Teresa's scent suddenly becomes intrusively potent. Randall quickly Wulf Speaks to Robert and everyone, confirming our affirmation. "One-Eye was being VERY meticulous with every detail of his plans. Why not also plant a spy in Alpha's birth pack for a 'just in case.' Makes strategic sense." Reaching for the doorknob simultaneously, I shoot a wulf speak to Yonell & Rosa. They exhibit surprised expressions as Randall continues.

"I have concealed her with a hindering spell all this time. To keep her body from rapidly deteriorating. More than likely, One-Eye used a preservation spell as well. Which makes for some powerful ancient magick."

"I have a few theories about these unexplained rogue attacks and individual attacks we have dealt with I would like to share before Teresa gets here." Hearing Robert's interjection causes me to hesitate from turning the knob.

Demonstrating why our Goddess chose him as my son's mate. All eyes turn to him as he shares. Simultaneously, I don't open the door; instead, "Teresa, can you return later. I apologize. We are not ready." Not waiting for her answer, I cast a dampening spell onto the guest house so as not to be spied. Turning, returning to the living room.

Robert, having waited for me, begins via wulf speak.

"This necromancer one-eye has had years to work on this, given what we have experienced, To meticulous detail. One eye has calculated every possible angle. Inclusive of Mama Cary's Ability to read auras and souls. He has not risked exposure up until now; Everything has been planned. Starting with..."

Again, my Beta son impulsively cuts off his speaking mate, "THE ATTACKS! OF COURSE! I did'n think about it at da time. He was testin our pack. Lookin for weakness." A low heavy growl reminds my cub how much I dislike rudeness when someone is speaking.

I also remember I am no longer his Alpha, and in turn, my eldest son is now my Beta. However, Randall got my point. "Sorry, mama Alpha, sorry, Robert. Go ahead." We watch Robert's expression change and soften with his smile,

"chocolate, I know you have this covered." Winking. Randall grins, "Flatterer, Go." then refocuses.

Calling attention from us to them, Alpha and Prime Alpha release a short rumbling type growl between them, showing their growing impatience. Both are intently interested in Robert's analysis. Alpha glances at Robert nodding once, "Beta Robert."

"Yes, Alpha. As I was saying, that night at the supe lounge incident, they attempted to kidnap Mama Cary as a distraction. Using the attack on our home. Having failed at abducting Mama Cary. The first question I had then was, "How did they know the location of our new home?" Especially since we had just begun to settle, and news of its location only began circulating a week AFTER. That answer came when I looked down at a flyer one of the graphic designers handed me for final review. One eye had to have been given such a flyer from one of his rogues. Giving him plenty of time to learn the terrain of our territory in detail while in construction. But he had not counted on Ben spotting him and informing us. Thus alerting us to his presence. Then came Luna's kidnapping."

Looking to Prime Alpha Alejandro, "One-eye had a purpose for picking you the second time. You can read souls or auras. So, it made sense his identity would remain a secret. The question that came to me was. Why? Why would one-eye want to keep his identity a secret?" Luna releases a growl, as does everyone else.

"I realized he had a double purpose behind it." Looking to Alpha, "To cause your Blood rage Alpha. Knowing, it would prove catastrophic for all supernaturals and forcing you to accept a death sentence for your actions. Only it is well known, for a Celestial guardian Alpha or Prime Alpha, a death sentence would come from the Goddess herself. In turn, your death would leave Prime Alpha Sable without his destined mate and anguish Goddess, which seems to be the goal." Everyone now focuses on my following sentence, "There is only one piece I have not yet figured out. Abduction of the cubs. How does their abduction? Play into this?" Becoming pensive, then a look of clarity.

I raise my eyebrows with realization. "THAT'S IT!! That's why Alina, Tito, and the rest of the cubs were stolen. ONE-EYE DIVINED THE FUTURE CARETAKERS!! They are CONNECTED TO A CELESTIAL WULF GUARDIAN!! The only way that can be is..." For a moment, my gaze pensive again, then, like a light bulb, my eyes illuminate, "Each cub is a celestial caretaker to a guardian. Starting with Alina, who is Prime Alpha's second Celestial Guardian Caretaker."

Randall catches on, interrupts, and fills in the gaps. As from my realization, I stare wide-eyed at Alpha & Luna. Randall's voice climbs to be as enthusiastic as mine, "But wait, Ben was a bear first before becoming wulf by the Goddess, and he was stalked to be killed as a cub. So who is Ben Caretaker to?" The sudden eyes of both Alpha & Prime Alpha Sable glow to neon luminescence. A threatening growl comes from both, lips twitch slightly upwards with agitation. Even though we all know it is not towards us, I decide to change the subject, Randall drops it. Yet, just before returning his gaze to me. Alejandro looks to his mother, who nods slightly, and I realize. "They know who it is. Is it Ben?" Deciding against inquiring, I continue.

"As I was saying, One-Eye Knows it would be an assured death sentence of psychosis for you, Luna (still referring to him by his old title). Both forms would destroy our leaders in a slow, torturous death. Seeing their mate killed would have caused the remaining mate to lose their minds in this state. Their powers would fully surface." Turning my focus to Luna, I continue. "In your case Luna, your death would be a domino effect." Shifting my head to first Mama Cary, then Randall.

"Remember, unrestrained, and a natural element of nature, a celestial wulf guardian's power can shatter the barrier concealing us, revealing us to the humans. Exposing ALL supernaturals. Yet One-Eye knows it would not stop there. Their pain would have destroyed the whole pack. Something he must have, himself experienced."
