Bella...

My heart shattered at thinking that I had failed my sister. My eyes began to water uncontrollably as I wasn't able to pull my eyes away from the monitors that were just a few feet away. I had frozen, not being able to register what was going on around me.

Janelle gave my hand a tight squeeze, and I looked at her with tear filled eyes. I lost all my composure when it came to my sister – I was the older twin. I was supposed to protect her.

She darted her eyes back over to the monitor, causing me to do the same.

"That one is mine," Aidan's dark, dominating voice came from the radio. I narrowed my eyes as I felt fire burning through my veins. The cold fear that I had previously been dowsed with had instantly been melted away.

I needed to protect her.

Janelle and Trey both watched me wordlessly. The two teenager's were both tense and at a loss of what to do. I slowly crept into the open room to find a weapon – I was disappointed when all I could find was a rusted piece of a lever over by the garage door.

I needed a weapon.

"Location?"

Aidan's voice forced me out of my thoughts...No, I would have to work with it -- I would make it work.

I gripped the lever tightly in my hands. My steps were slow and exact – the training that woman forced on me prepared me for this. My hands tightened their grip on the lever as my eyes narrowed on the unsuspecting back of the man that was sitting on the chair.

My breathing slowed down.

I wasn't even thinking about lightly hitting him – I wanted him down.

He was going to hurt my sister.

I would protect Bella – I would protect my sister.

He...needed to...go.

Right as the man was about to speak into the radio, his thumb landing on a button on the radio, I swung as hard as I could at his head with both my hands on the makeshift weapon.

He was knocked out of the seat and onto the concrete floor, his body slumping over lifelessly.

I swallowed, my chest rising and falling rapidly. I continued to look at the body with the terrifying realization that I had just possibly killed another human being. I continued to watch -- I was expecting him to move.

He...didn't move. He didn't even twitch his fingers or make a squeak out of his mouth. Blood pooled on the concrete from the side of his head slowly. The red liquid was haunting me on the ground as I couldn't move.

I did this.

Did I...kill him-?

"Did you kill him?" Trey voiced my thoughts out loud in an excited tone.

Janelle covered her mouth with the back of her hand and looked away from the gruesome scene. I dropped the rusted lever on the ground, since I had lost feeling in my hand. I quickly ran over to the cameras and frantically searched the area for an off switch.

I killed him -- I did that.

I'm a monster...!

No.

I shook my head quickly, letting the self-loathing thoughts quickly dissipate from my mind. No, as long as he was out of the way then that's all that mattered. I was still a good person deep down – I-I was doing it for the right reasons.
