Chapter 27: Reupload

"Bye ma. I'll see you later." I said as I heard my flight being called.

"Alright baby. I'm gonna miss you. Love you so much." She said hugging me.

"I love you too mommy and this time I won't wait so long before I come to visit." I said.

"Good. Because I miss my baby. It's hard being the only woman in the house." she said.

"It's only you and daddy." I said.

"And your brothers." I said.

"They have wives." I said laugh ring

"You know what I mean. I'm ready for my Joy to come back." she said

"I will mama. Soon." I told her.

"You better. Or I'm coming up to that New York and dragging you back down here where you belong." She said.

"Alright mommy. I'm gonna come."
I said.

"Alright baby girl." She said hugging me and letting me go.

"Bye Jacob and you look after my baby you hear?" She asked him.

He smiled laughing. "Yes ma'am." He said and we walked off.

"So now that you're done packing. What's next?" Jacob asked me.

I shrugged."I don't know." I said.

"So you gonna sit around your condo miserable for the rest of the day?" He asked.

"I'm not miserable." I said.

"Oh yes ma'am you are. You're miserable and stupid. Why would you tell that man that you wanted to be his friend? You spent three years thinking about the man and then when he tells you he loves you, you say let's start our relationship back as friends first? What the hell kind of logic is that Lauren?" He asked. "I mean you spent the whole four day weekend with him and his daughter and now you want to be friends and you know what he's stupid too because he putting up with your shit." He said.

"I did it because I felt so many emotions. It was just a lot for me so I told him that I wanted to be friends and if it's meant to be it will. I see it like this, back then he could have done so much to make me stay and get me back, and he can do it now if he wants to. I love that man but I'm not gonna assume he wants a relationship and with the distance we both agreed that this is what we'd do." I explained.

"You're stupid but I support your dumb ass decision." he told me.

I smiled and hugged him. "Thanks J it's just a lot to look past, and I want to I just want him to make the moves to do so because I want to make sure he's certain." I said.

"We will see if he makes the moves. I'll talk to you later though it's late and I'm tired." He said.

"Alright, be at the office around eight tomorrow." I told him.

"You've got it." He said and left out of my condo.

I sighed and got up licking the door behind him. I made my way into the kitchen getting a glass of wine, when I got a FaceTime call.

"Hey." I said as Melanie and Amore faced appeared on my screen.

"Hey Ms. Lauren." Mel said.

"Hey Mels." I said smiling

"Hey Ms. Joy." Amore called me. She said she liked that name better than Lauren.

"Hey Amore, does daddy know you're facetiming me?" I asked smiling.
