"Girl! I was so mad! He gon talk bout some stay with me! Nigga you ain't Sam Smith!" Erin, my best friend told me and the other stylist in the shop, Kelsey his story about his one night stand.
"He said what?" Kelsey, my other best friend asked laughing.
"He was like stay please, I know we just got done but, just stay a little while." He said in a sober tone.
"You know you wrong for leaving him right?" Tiny, my client said laughing.
"No I ain't! I had to go, put my face on and be here to open up since Kelsey decided she was gonna stay by Ty house last night!" Erin said.
"Wait, you was by who's house?" I asked.
"Ty,he took me out to dinner, and we had a good time." Kelsey smiled.
"Key for she let him fuck!" Erin said.
I laughed. "You don't know that Erin." I said.
"Yeah I do! You go out on a candle light dinner with a dude you been wanting for forever, he fine, looking and smelling good and you celibate, you gon fuck!" He said.
"Ouch!" The lady in his chair yelled.
"If you quit moving that wouldn't happen." He said throwing his 24 inch curly weave over his shoulder.
He finished her hair, she had got some tracks tightened and styled.
"Thank you Erin boo!" She said kissing his cheek.
"Mhm, you welcome girl!" He said hugging her goodbye.
Once she left out he whipped her lip stain off his cheek.
"Nasty hoe!" He said fixing his make up.
"Why you say that?" I asked. Sitting in my chair for the first time today.
"Don't act like you don't know Lauren! That girl be messing with everybody." Kelsey added.
"I don't know! When was the last time I went out with y'all to know that?" I asked.
"Oh yeah. That's right. You trying to get all educated and stuff." Erin said.
I laughed. Me and Kelsey know each other because of our parents. Her daddy and my father go way back, I met Erin through Kelsey and every since then it's been us three.
This is Kelsey's shop. Only the three of us are the main stylist. Then theirs the shampoo girls, well queens but they are in school just like me. I'm 20 years old and I'm in college.
"What you in college for Ms.Smith?" Erica, the receptionist asked.
"I Major in Finance and minor in accounting and business." I said.
"So what you doing working as a hairstylist?" She asked.
"I'm doing Kelsey a favor for one, and it's something for me to occupy my time with plus, I'm good." I said flipping my hair.
"Yes! You can work when it comes to those colors, weaves and natural hair!" Erin said.
"Oh, that's cool, you think you can touch me up?" She asked.
"No, she has a client on the way. Come sit in my seat." Kelsey answered.
"I got a client? Who?" I asked.
"You'll see." She stated.
Just then the bell on top of the door rang.
"He's here." She said getting all giddy.
"Here she go again." I sighed.
Kelsey swears up and down I need a man, but I don't. I just got out of a relationship. It was bad and he was mentally abusive. My dad found out and beat the hell out of him, that was senior year in high school.
"Harold, this is Lauren lauren, this is Harold." She said introducing us.
"Hello, what can I do for you today?" I asked.
"Well you can start off by giving me them digits." He said.
"I mean what services would you like provided." I smiled again. Hopefully he gets the hint.
"Oh, well in that case, we can go to the back room." He said wiggling his eye brows.
"Oh hell no! You can get the stepping!" I said pointing to the door.
"Ma, you ain't got to act like that, just give me a little something, I'll leave you alone." He said pulling on my work vest.
I picked up the hot curling iron. "I will burn your ass." I said slapping his hand away.
"You crazy hoe! You know who I am?" He asked.
"Naw, but let me tell you who I am Lala, and I will beat your ass until that's the only word you know get the hell out!" I yelled at him.
"Man fuck you! Fat bitvh." He yelled.
I was pissed off. I went to the back, where Kelsey and Erin escaped to.
"Kelsey, on god! Don't set me up with nobody else!" I yelled at her.
"Okay okay. I'm sorry." She said.
"I get that you think I'm lonely, but really I'm good." I explained to her.
"Lau,we both just want to see you happy with someone. That's it." Erin explained.
"Erin, my daddy don't too much like you because you a dude so if you keep setting me up, he will have no problem putting a bullet through you." I said with a straight face.
"Damn. You are your fathers child." Kelsey said.
"Don't you know!" I said flipping my hair.
"Yeah, we do. We live with you fool." Erin said.
"Yeah, whatever. Y'all coming to the mall with me?" I asked.
"Yeah, we will go if you come out to the club with us." Kelsey stayed.
"Nah, I'll go by myself then." I said shaking my head.
"Girl! You haven't been to the club since your daddy caught us when we were 17 in there." Kelsey laughed at the memory.
"Exactly, now my daddy always got his boys looking at me." I stated rolling my eyes.
"Mhm, that's because you're the only girl." Erin said.
Yeah, it's true. On top of being the only girl, of four brothers I'm the youngest. James is the oldest, Chris is the second oldest, Jackson is the third, and Christian is the youngest of my brothers. Then theirs me, Lauren Joy. My family calls me joy, most of the times and I got Lauren from my uncle, he died when my mom was pregnant with me his name was Laurence.
"Yeah, he complained about my outfit for 20 whole minutes before I gave in and changed." I sighed. Yes, I still live with my parents. They think I'm gonna live with them until I get married, which will probably be never so I'm gonna die in my parents house.
"Your daddy must think that jeans is gonna hide all that ass, if so he's mistaken." Kelsey said.
I mugged her hard. "You know what, I'm just gonna go. Y'all ready or not?" I asked.
"Yeah, let's be out! We gotta find you something hot to wear." Erin said clapping his hands together.
We left out the shop and locked up. Leaving in my all black matte finished Range Rover I started my way to the mall.
