"Where you at hoe!" Erin asked as I got in my car.

"On my way to lunch with my mother in law." I said.

"Ohh bitch why?" He asked me.

"Because Devin wants me to stop being petty and talk to her." I explained.

"She the petty one but good. I was just at my in laws house." He said.

"Oh really? What had happened?"'I asked him.

"So Jeremy dated a woman in high school." He said sighing.

"Okay." I said waiting for him to get to the bad part of that statement.

"I don't know how to feel. Like why would he date a woman? And he didn't say anything about it. We talked about ex's before and he never mentioned a woman." He said.

I shrugged. "Maybe she wasn't important enough to mention."

"I don't know. You know I trust J but why did he just leave her out?" He asked.

"Jeremy is in love with you. Hell he married you and you know he'd do anything for you." I said.

He sighed. "I know. That hoe was just flawless. I never ever was envious of no female and I hang out with two some bad bitches but she got me in my feeling just a little bit." He admitted.

"Chill out. You'll be fine. Was Jeremy at the house when you met her?" I asked him.

"No. She just came with his cousin. I can't stand that hoe. Always in the middle of somebody shit." He said I could just feel him rolling his eyes.

"Don't sweat it. Talk to your husband about it and we will talk later cool?" I asked him parking.

"Yes. Thank you babes and good luck with the Monster in Law from hell."
He said.

I laughed. "Mmhm you're welcome and thank you."

"Bye. I love you Lau." He said before we hung up.

Once I got myself together, and ready for confrontation I went in.

"Thomas for two." I said.

The girl smiled at me. "Your other party isn't here. Would you like to wait here for them or go to your table?"
She asked smiling.

I nodded. "My table please."

"Okay. Right this way." She said and led me to the table.

After about fifteen minutes the waitress came taking my drink order and l sat patiently waiting for her.

"Hello." I said picking up my phone.

"Hello Lauren. I'm so sorry I was busying lost total track of time. I am on my way I didn't stand you up." His mother said.

"No worries. Would you like me to order you anything?" I asked her.

"Yes. The Lamb would be great and whatever you're drinking." She said.

I nodded my head. "Okay. See you then." I said.

"Alright. I'm about five or ten minutes away." She said and hung up.

She's nice. Why? I don't know and it's making me mildly uncomfortable. I sighed sitting back in my chair. I texted Jacob about some things regarding work and had my other assistant get me a few things from the office and to my house.

"Hello." She said sitting down. She looked nice with a floral print wrap dress on that fit her nicely and made her look like she was sweeter than pie.

"Hi." I said with a smile.

"I'm sorry I'm late. I was at the church and ran over time." She said shaking her head.

I nodded. "It's fine. I was doing some work anyways." I said waving my phone with a light smile gracing my lips.

"You look beautiful. That color is pretty on you." She said sitting and sipping on her sprite.

"Thank you." I said looking down at my shirt. "Devin brought it for me." I said.

"He has great taste." She nodded.

A little while after the pleasantries the waitress came out with our appetizers and we sat down. She even touched my hands while we prayed over our food.

"So I guess you are wondering why I called you here." I said putting down the chicken appetizer I was eating.

"No, I'm sure of what we are here for. This is about our little falling out disagreement and I just want to apologize to you. For it all." She said after putting down her fork.

"I've been going through a lot recently and after last time I really had to sit down and look at myself good. It took me speaking to an old friend and him saying how wrong I was for me to realize just that. When Devin and Is father were together, his niter had a problem with it. Devin father had way more money than my family and he came to the slums where I was living and swept me off of my feet. His mother didn't like that at all and she made us break up. We of course got back together but in the end Devins father chose his mother over me." she shrugged.

"I know that my son wouldn't choose me over you. Because you are his everything and you light up his whole world. I remember being in that space and feeling so terrible about it. I don't want to put you through that and I don't want for Devin to have to choose. My reasoning for always pushing you away is because in so many ways you remind me of my daughter." She said smiling through her tears.

"And everytime I see you all I can thinks about is her. The good and the bad memories and I never thought about how much my son loves you and that's what matters to me the most. I'm so sorry and I hope that we can fix and make a relationship I know it won't be easy for you to forgive me and if I were you I wouldn't but I hope and pray that you do. Even if that means we have a relationship based strictly off of the kids and Devin." She said.

I nodded with a smiled. "It's something that I want to fix and that I am willing to fix one step at a time."

"I am all for that. I appreciate you for being oh so patient with me and caring about Devin and the girls the way you do." She expressed.

"It's honestly no problem. I love them oh so much." I stressed.

She smiled at me. "I see that."

And we continued our lunch I don't know where to go from here and what to do but for Devin and the girls I will try.
