Devin's POV
"Hey Pooh baby." I said answering my phone.
"Hey Babe. What you doing?" She asked.
"Waiting for Taylor at this little restaurant." I explained looking over the menu.
"She didn't show yet? What time were tall supposed to meet?" She asked me.
"I'm early. I wanted to get it out the way so when I come home I can take the girls to the movie." He said.
"Well you didn't tell me you were going to the movies. I was gonna do dress shopping with the girls." I said.
"Bae. You still don't have a dress." I asked her.
"No because I wanted your mother to be apart of that process and with everything going on I wasn't able to." She informed me as I saw Taylor walk out of a pink and white lambo.
I sighed. "Yeah? And how did that go?" I asked her.
"It went well. We are on a good note." She explained with a light voice.
"I'm proud of you two and very relieved." I admitted to her.
"Thank you, I'm proud of us too but have you spoken to your sisters husband?" She inquired.
"I haven't but I spoke to his lawyers. We are gonna have to go through the court process and they are going to put Mells on the stand." I explained.
She sighed. "Well when you meet with them again we have to speak about boundaries. She is doing good right now and I do not want her to have to relive any bad memories Devin."
I nodded. "I hear you and I agree with you all the way."
"Yeah, well I guess I'll do this, go with my mom, your mom, the boys, my brothers and kels to dress shopping and then when we choose the final dress I'll have the girls?" She asked.
"Yeah that sounds great but babe why are you taking so many people?" I asked her scrunching up my nose.
"Because I would like to. They all mean a lot to me and I want their opinions." She answered me.
"Alright, if that's what you sure you want to do but let me go. Taylors here." I said.
"Alright babe I love you so much." She said as I saw Taylor head in my direction.
I smiled."I love you too Pooh."
She laughed. "Your mom heard you and she's scrunching up her face. I'm gonna let you go though."
"Tell mommy I said stop hating and okay babe" I said before hanging up and taking the smile off of my face as Taylor stood in front of me.
I looked up at her. "You gonna sit or.."
"So you're really not gonna get my chair? Rude." She said pulling her chair out herself.
I chuckled a little. "I'm not your man. I don't even have to speak to you if I don't want to." I said.
"You have no respect for me Devin. That's why we can't make us work." She said shaking her head.
"First of all, why should I respect you? You earn respect and I don't want to make us work. I'm married." I explained to her taking off my sun glasses.
She rolled her eyes. "You should respect me because I'm the mother of your child."
"You're Cara's birth giver. You brung her here on this earth after that you ain't did nothing for her." I said through clenched teeth.
"So why you call me here if not to work things out with me?" She asked completely ignoring my statement.
"Because my wife thought it would be a good idea if our, by our I mean my wife and I's daughter met her birth mother." I explained.
"She's not her mother. Quit calling that big bitch my daughters mother." She said.
I laughed. "Cara sees Lauren, the woman that you will never ever disrespect in your life again as her mother. You should too." I smirked.
"I don't do shut I don't want to and I don't want to stop disrespecting her and I don't want to see her as my child's mother so I won't." She said rolling her neck.
"You know what? I ain't come out here for all of that. I came here because my wife wanted me to be nice and speak to you because if you come to our daughters school popping up again I will have your ass arrested and we will get restraining orders." I said
She looked shocked. "Didn't think I know you came to the school huh?" I shook my head. "She goes to private school they call for everything even when she moves in line so what makes you think that they won't call for a woman pretending to be her parent?" I asked.
"I wasn't pretending that's my daughter and as her mother I can do what I want." She said.
I shook my head. "Didn't I tell you I Love lawyers? Matter of a fact I am a lawyer the law states that you can not claim a child at school if one, you aren't legally their parent and two, if you aren't a contacted listed and noted at the school. You are neither." I explained.
"What the fuck are you saying?" She barked at me.
"What I'm saying you illiterate fuck is that you maybe Caras biological mother." I said through clenched teeth air quoting mother. "But by law, she's Lauren and I's child. So if you want me to give you one ounce of my time I suggest you fix your attitude and come correct." I barked.
"So you telling me that you took away my rights to my child and now Lauren is her legal guardian!" She asked standing up now.
I nodded my head. "Yes I did. This is over because your making a scene." I said standing up.
"You can't do that!" She yelled following me in the skimpy dress and high heels she had on.
I shook my head why did I sleep with her? She looks like a hooker, and I have never knocked them but I just don't want them by me.
I turned around when she kicked my car with her heel and I shook my head. "When you wrote your little letter saying that you'd be back and if not I have all rights over her you did. You even put your signature on it. It's a contracts." I said.
"It was on a napkin." She yelled frustratedly.
"It doesn't matter." I shrugged.
She laughed. "I will ruin your life. I know you're running for mayor. I k ow your plans!" She yelled causing me to get out of my truck.
"Look I know that you came up here and you had a P.I. following me and I know from my people that your millions in the hole because of your dumb ass modeling career but what you won't do is use my child to try and get money from me. Be a woman for once in your life and get a damn job and if you ever really want to see your daughter maybe I'll think about it but don't you ever in your life threaten me again. I will sue you for the little you got and I will make your whole life hell." I explained to her getting close until she flinched. I wasn't even within a five inches of her I shook my head.
"You have a nice day." I said and drove off. That hoe must be all types of out of her mind if she really thinks she can do that and get away with it. Use my child as pawn in her little get money free scam.
Luckily I'm not as nice as Lauren and I had my friend continue to follow and dig information up on her. For a second, I thought she genuinely cared and wanted to maybe be active in Cara's life but that's not the case.
I sighed stopping at the ice cream shop. A night in the house with my two baby girls will be perfect to take a little of this stress off of me.
