The weekend came and went and on Monday everyone was at school again. John was slightly limping and he really hoped no one would notice. He and Thomas had hang out all weekend and had sex a couple of times. Basically, he was not giving a fuck about his parents anymore.
John felt someone bump into him and he yelped, falling onto the floor. He cursed, glaring up. He saw Lafayette and he gasped in a panic. Lafayette bit his lip hard, offering a hand. "Oh my god, John I'm so sorry I didn't see you there-" John stood up and shrugged. "It's fine don't worry about it. Really, don't worry at all..." He mumbled, rubbing his neck.
They both stood there quietly not knowing what to really do now. Lafayette was about to leave when he noticed something on John's neck. He furrowed his eyebrows and moved some of John's hair out of the way. Lafayette felt his stomach turn upside down when he saw a hickey on the other's neck. John whimpered and stepped back. "I-I can explain-"
Lafayette's eyes became visibly darker as he crossed his arms over his chest. He looked bigger and scarier than John had ever seen him before and it made John nervous.
"John...I don't want to jump to conclusions but...during weekend, did you have someone over?" Lafayette asked quietly. John bit his lip so hard he tasted the metallic taste of blood in his mouth. "Y..yes...b-but it wasn't love! I wasn't...cheating on you and also, we are on a break." John said the last part more confidently, not going to let someone walk over himself just like that. Lafayette chuckled in disbelief. "Oh my god. You just straight up fucked someone after yelling at me for giving you a damn hand job. What a two-faced liar are you?" He growled, pushing John against the wall. "Well? Who was this lucky boy of yours?" He yelled. John wrinkled his nose and hit Lafayette in his face. "I'm not fucking telling you." He pushed the taller boy aside when he was struggling with his nose starting to bleed. John aimed a kick to Lafayette's ankle. "You shit head, getting angry over something little like a hickey!" He watched Lafayette fall down as he held his ankle. He crouched down besides Lafayette and grabbed his hair. "This talk is over. Okay? Over." He groaned before standing up and walking away. He hid his face in his hood and ran through the hallways to a boy's bathroom.
He stood before a mirror and stared at himself from the mirror. He was breathing fast, heart was pumping and his face all flushed. He could still feel anger flow through him except it was turning more into regret. In a few seconds he began sobbing into his hand and regretting everything. How could he do that to Lafayette? He still loved him so much but they possibly couldn't be okay after today.
John's felt so sick he actually had to throw up. He gasped, quickly getting his phone from his backpack and called his mom to pick him up.

At home he was wearing his pajamas and sitting on his bed with a stuffed animal in his arms and a notebook he was drawing in. He felt numb at this point like nothing he did anymore mattered.
There was a knock on the door and he quietly said "Come in" His mom walked in and closed the door gently behind her. John looked up at her and hugged the stuffed animal tighter. "What is it?" She sat next to him. "How are you feeling? Did the stomach medicine help at all?" John nodded. "Yeah...I don't feel sick anymore. I feel fine." She nodded, running her hand through John's hair. "What happened at school sweetheart? You were there for only 10 minutes." John leaned against his mom, chewing his lip. "I uh...got into a fight...over a thing..." She nodded, wrapping her arm around her son. "You know you can talk to me about anything right? If you're not feeling well we can discuss it. I won't tell your father anything."
John's felt his stomach fill with butterflies. He really wanted to trust his mom so...
"I...I angered my boyfriend...he got angry over a hickey from someone else and I hit him and oh god I was terrible-" He whimpered, covering his face. "Mom I'm sorry, I didn't mean that to happen-" His mom had went quiet, she looked unsure about what to say. "John...are you gay?" John nodded a little, letting out a shaky breath. "Mhm...I'm sorry.." She shook her head, pulling him to a tight hug. "John, sweetheart...you don't need to apologize like that...I mean..being gay isn't okay at our church but I disagree with that statement. I love you no matter what, you will always be my son." She said softly, wiping tears from John's face. This just made the boy cry more and he buried his face in his mom's neck. "D-dad will kill me if he knows..." "I won't tell him anything. Just that you had an upset stomach and you had to come home. Now, about your boyfriend..what happened?" John shrugged, tugging his hair. "I don't know...I snapped at him but now I feel terrible about it. I feel like I ruined everything..." His mom cradled him, sighing. "John...if he really loves you, you'll figure this whole thing out. But I think fighting like that doesn't solve things out." John nodded, wiping his eyes. "I know I know...I said I'm sorry..."
She kissed his head. "Don't apologize to me. You and your boyfriend should have a talk. Take some time and see how everything goes okay? When you feel comfortable." John nodded, pulling away. "Of course mom...I'll try to do that." He gave her a sad smile. She nodded, running her hand through John's hair before getting up. "Okay sweetie. I'm gonna go make some food, come downstairs if you get hungry." She said softly and left.
John nodded and laid down. He stared at the ceiling and thought about everything that had happened during weekend. How could he ever get out of this mess?
