Lafayette was sitting in the waiting room to the school nurse, holding an ice pack to his nose. He was in utter disbelief about what had just happened. He thought he and John were still somewhat cool even with what they had done but apparently not. Now what he wanted to find out was who this mystery boy was. There weren't many options though, not a lot of people liked or cared about John. He figured he'd look for someone with a hickey at first and then start coming up with tactics if he can't find anything.
The nurse came back and asked Lafayette if his nose was still bleeding. He removed the ice pack and shook his head. He handed it to the nurse and grabbed his backpack from the floor. He started heading to class because there was no reason to leave home. When he was making his way to the classroom, he happened to see Thomas standing around with his friends and he had visible hickey on his neck. Lafayette narrowed his eyes at him but he didn't have enough time to ask anything. He just went to class and sat next to Hercules.
His friend turned to look at him and raised an eyebrow. "Wow half of your face is covered in blood. What happened?" Lafayette groaned, rubbing his face. "Long story short, John got dirty with someone over the weekend and we got into a fight in the hallway. He left but I had to stay at school. I also have a bruise on my ankle because of him." He huffed, taking out his phone and checked how he looked. "Ah shit this does look bad..." Hercules pat Lafayette's shoulder. "I can ask Elizabeth for makeup wipes if you want me to." Elizabeth was Hercules's girlfriend and sat right behind them. Lafayette shook his head. "I'll clean it up later whatever." He grunted, looking at the front of the class. He felt like this was going to be a long day.

After class he had went to the bathroom and cleaned up his face. Lunch was approaching so that would be a perfect opportunity to go and have a little chat with one Thomas Jefferson.
Lafayette made his way through the school and found Thomas hanging out by his locker. Lafayette walked up to him and tapped his shoulder. "Jefferson, I wanna talk to you." He mumbled. Thomas turned and raised his eyebrows. There was clear surprise in his eyes. "Oh...yeah sure...where do you wanna talk?"
"Oh anywhere really. Maybe somewhere more private how you like it." Lafayette replied, pulling Thomas by his arm to the nearest bathroom. Thomas frowned, pulling his hand back. "Look I know what this is about. I'm not stupid. You're angry about me and John aren't you?" Lafayette nodded, furrowing his eyebrows. "Yes. He's my boyfriend and you fiddled with with, of course I'm mad." Thomas just shrugged at that. "He said he wanted to. He didn't have to say yes, he could have declined but he didn't-he's the one you should be angry at not so much me."
"Do you even care about John? Or do you just want me to turn on him so you can laugh or continue sleeping with him?" Lafayette shot. Thomas was taken back a bit, Lafayette seemed to be genuinely angry at him. "N-no-I actually care about him! I didn't even reeeaaally ask him to sleep with me, he wanted it himself. And if he's using me to rebel his parents, so be it. His parents suck ass anyways. And if you really want to know why we fucked, then ask John." Thomas shrugged, staring at Lafayette. He blinked, not really sure how he was supposed to feel now. "Uh...whatever, I'm still angry at you. I can't believe you slept with him. You're an asshole." Thomas rolled his eyes. "Okay then. But John still likes me better than you. You understand how much shit he's gone through because of you guys? A lot."
That had Lafayette go quiet. Maybe there was some truth to what Thomas saying. He just sighed and started to walk to the cafeteria. He was so ashamed of himself right now, letting his boyfriend like this. He didn't know what would make this better anymore, they weren't doing good, no doubt about that.

Lafayette's school ended at 3pm and he was now making his way back home. He happened to stumble close to John's house. He stopped for a while, just thinking about what to do next. He decided to go and ring the doorbell. When the door opened, he saw John's mom standing in front of him. "Uh hello Mrs Laurens...I came to see John..." He mumbled nervously. The woman raised an eyebrow but let him inside.
"John's in his room. He's still upset by the way." She said quietly before heading to the kitchen. Lafayette frowned, feeling terrible.
He walked the stairs up to John's room and knocked on the door. He heard a quiet 'come in' and opened the door. John was sitting on his bed, wearing shorts and a hoodie. He was reading a book.
John looked up and gasped when he saw Lafayette. He curled up more, kind of like hiding in his hoodie. Lafayette closed the door gently and stayed by it. "Hey...um I just wanted to see how you were doing."
"I'm honestly surprised you even care." John muttered, furrowing his eyebrows. "Thomas told me you talked to him at school. I don't really want to talk to you right now." Lafayette bit his lip. "John...I just want to talk, like actually talk. Not fight." John looked away, shrugging. "Well why didn't you want to talk before? Just, decided to fight me in front of the whole school..." He chuckled, shaking his head. "You're a fucking idiot Laf. I genuinely thought you cared about me, of all my friends I thought you were the one who actually was genuine. Hercules was that too for a moment and then he got a girlfriend. Alexander has always been terrible and it just got worse now and Jesus Crist next up is you." John turned back to Lafayette and got off the bed. "You damn bastard. I still loved you but if something happens and we say we're on a break, then we're on a break. I don't have any romantic feelings for Thomas, I just wanted to feel good and-as he said to you-also prove my parents I'm not that innocent little boy they still think I am."
Lafayette sighed, nodding and waiting for his turn to say something. "Look I...I do care about you, I love you so so much...but the way you acted back when we started our 'break' was still super rude. And then you sleep with someone multiple times and still manage to make me the villain in this is...it hurt my feelings. I understand a few weeks ago it wasn't what you really like wanted and stuff but we could have talked about it. I wanted to talk about it, to make sure you were okay. That's why I called you during the weekend. To find out you were okay." Lafayette felt tears prickle his eyes and he quickly wiped them. John wrinkled his nose, crossing his arms over his chest. "Don't even try to give me that look. You're the one making me the villain here, I only expressed my feelings. You always refuse to consider my feelings and shit, that's why we're in this mess in the first place. I'm hurt, Laf! And you always refused to see it, you just wanted to make sure you're okay. I've done things for you but you've never made an effort for me." He hissed, going around his bed to his closet and opened the doors. He threw a few hoodies at Lafayette and a necklace. "Take your shit I don't want it anymore. Because we're done. We're fucking done here. I can't take this anymore."
Lafayette stared at him with an open mouth. He couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. He slowly picked his things up and frowned. "But..." He sighed. "I'm sorry John..." He mumbled and walked out of the room. He didn't say anything to John's mom asking what happened. He just walked outside and had to hold back tears on his way home.
When he was at home, he just dropped the things on the floor of his room and laid in his bed, crying. Not sure how long he cried, because he ended up falling asleep at some point. His whole world had just crumbled into pieces.
