Lucy was facing the ground, she had slashes on both legs, small cuts in her chest where Tabby's nails went through, three broken rib, and one of them punctured her right lung. Her condition was way worse than Lisanna's and the pain was becoming unbearable.
No one made an effort to help her, everyone ran after Lisanna. She winced in pain and began to cry silently, thinking about the decisions that led her to this moment. It all started the first time she felt her magic rose abruptly. She had noticed that every time she solved a part of the enigma of her past, completing it as if it were a great puzzle, her strength and magic increased, but she had also noticed that some fragments of memory from her dreams gave her more power than others.
Lucy's mind traveled back to that day. The day she went on a mission with Team Natsu for the first time.
Erza Scarlet, the famous Titania, the strongest woman in Fairy Tail, her long red hair and fierce gaze make the rest of the guild tremble.
Gray Fullbuster, the cool stripper mage of ice. A man with handsome features, cold gaze and raven hair.
Happy the blue cat with wings whom belonged to the Exceed race. He was the inseparable flying friend of Salamander.
Natsu Dragneel the fire Dragon Slayer, also known as the Salamander. A guy with pink spiky hair and refined face. His sharp eyes had a unique olive onyx color. Underneath a long dark red coat, he wore a black suit with an orange outline that showed off his well-sculpted abs. But his distinctive element was his white scarf, which his father Igneel gave him.
Even though they had all been in the guild since their childhood, it wasn't until this mission that they formed a group to fight together against the spell-caster Erigor. And although Lucy was a relatively new member of the guild, her participation in the mission was very important, as she contributed her intellect and all the information related to Lullaby to the group, which was a dangerous creation of the dark mage Zeref.
As they were trapped inside the Oshibana Train Station, Happy handed Lucy the golden key of Virgo. As soon as she touch the key, she felt her magic power grow ridiculously fast.
Lucy panicked and thought, "what's going on? why is this happening now? Perhaps the Virgo key is an important piece of the great mystery of my memories? How could I explain this to the guild? Besides, what would be the point of trying to explain it to them now if I didn't even understand it myself. And what would happen if they discovered the real reasons why I joined the guild? No, I can't tell them yet. I must continue with this lie until I complete the puzzle, only then I will be able to face them, explain everything to them and ask for their forgiveness. For now, I must think of a way to quickly spend this unusual increase in my magic, when I return to the guild I will think of something."
After they defeated Erigor and completed their mission, they returned to the guild. As soon as Lucy arrived she approached the library and made a wide research on different spells. Until she ran across a Protection Spell, which will constantly be swallowing her magic to stay active. It was perfect for Lucy, as it would allow her to continue pretending to be weak. After learning the incantation from the book, she chanted the spell to place a shield that would protect the magic source of the guild members', their heart.
When Lisanna returned from Edolas, Lucy use the same spell on her. Which is why, Lucy knew Lisanna might be severely injured, but she also knew her spell would not let her die.
On the meantime, Loke the celestial Lion spirit, a handsome guy with dark orange spiky hair, blue sunglasses and wearing a suit, appeared on his own. Normally he was playful and flirtatious, but now his face only reflected how disappointed he felt. Due to the fact that nobody in the guild tried to assist her injuries. He pressed his lips tightly before saying, "I'm sorry, I tried to come earlier, but something was preventing me from approaching my access gate".
