Chapter 21. Strike Back (part 2)

"¿How?", asked Makarov.

"Well...", answered Mavis while she turned to look at Lucy.

Then, everyone else turned to see Lucy, she shook both hands trying to denied it and explained, "I did not do anything, back then, even I didn't understand much about my past, not being able to do anything, I prayed to the girl who appeared before me in the mirror, and fortunately she answered my pleas".

Zeus said, "Dont worry, I condemn the lives of those two to suffering, the time has come, I will honor my debt and pay for my sin".

Lucy lowered her gaze to the ground, "After she took control of my body, she stopped time using a spell, then, she pulled out 2 silver keys and threw them towards the guild and recited another spell".

"I am the ruler of the stars and I allow the birth of 2 new constellations, ¡Open up, Gate of the Celestial World, Flower Garden!", Zeus chanted the spell.

"So, the day we supposedly died, 2 silver lights appeared in front of us to collect our remaining soul and just like that, a portal was opened for us, with beautiful petals falling from it, I remembered a voice saying: let this place be your new home, to live happily ever after, added Mavis, shaking the little wings above her head.

The next thing we knew, we woke up in a field full of flowers in the Celestial World, Zeref continued, but he stopped abruptly, he was thunderstruck when he noticed in everyone's gaze, disdain and contempt towards him.

"So, that's what I saw that day...", answered Makarov.

Mavis replied smiling, "Zeus sent life-energy throughout your body", she paused and pointed at Lucy, "she used Lucy's protection spell to speed up the healing process of your heart, then...", she turned and looked at Zeref, "she showed you our new beginning in the Celestial Flower Garden".

Zeref was really concerned that the people Mavis loved, would hate him, he knew that he could not change the ominous past that ended with their death, so at least, he wanted to restore the hope to the guild that her beloved, loved so much, "After all the damage that I cause you, perhaps saying I am sorry seems absurd, we were enemies after all, but... We went through a lot, and our end was truly regrettable, therefore, from now on, I am determined to get the forgiveness from my wife's family", he approached Mavis and grabbed her right hand tightly.

As Mavis reciprocated his feelings squeezing his hand tenderly, Lucy said smiling sadly, "¡They have also made mistakes, that's why, they have no right to judge you! And, there is something everyone should know, the day that my book was awarded, the two people you saw that day, it was actually the two of them, and is was Zeref's idea".

Lucy's words sank deep into Fairy Tail members, she was right, they shouldn't judge him, they all turned to see Zeref and softened their gaze, he was startled and blushed lightly, "I just wanted to give the guild the hope of a happy ending, most likely the new beginning that Mavis just mentioned, with a new fate for us.

Among sobs Makarov said, "¡Thank you!", he closed his eyes for a moment and then looked at Lucy, "And thanks to you as well my child".

Mavis raised the index finger of her right hand, "We can talk about the details later, back to business, the truth is that whoever approaches that thing without a hint of celestial power will be destroyed, and on the other hand, any celestial being will be corrupted. On top of it, sending celestial beings could end in a colossal wormhole disaster. Yet, we have 1 option with 5.2% probability of success". She said looking sternly at them.

"Even if its 0.01% its worth a try ¿What is your plan?", answered Lucy crossing her arms.

"Tabby is confident that the island shield is indestructible, so there will be no additional guard to defend it, the proof is that Natsu has been attacking the island and no one has attacked him back in defense of it. I think that as a dark mage Zeref can freely attack Mount Olympus along with Natsu, when the island starts to crumble into pieces, we can seize the commotion to attack Tabby", she responded with her characteristic analytical eyes.
