A U G U S T

Atsumu couldn't get a wink of sleep. He was so afraid of being on bad terms with Suzume for even a second that he decided to make things tight.

He got out of bed, and silently made his way over to the olive eyed girls house after not hearing from her all night.

He climbed up to her window, staring at the closed curtains. He knocked on her window, startling the poor girl who had just gotten changed after a shower. She too hadn't been able to sleep so she had gone for a late night run. She walked over to the window knowing exactly who it would be.

'There's only one idiot who comes through my window.'

Surely enough, there was the blonde boy perched on her windowsill, waiting for her to open it. Her heart slowly calmed down, the shock wearing off and she sighed before letting him in.

She was not amused.

"What are you doing here Atsumu?" She said moving to sit on her bed. He followed quickly behind her, standing a few feet away from where she had sat down. He winced at the use of his full name but quickly composed himself.

"Look I'm really sorry for the way I acted today... well yesterday now." He said rubbing the back of his neck as he saw the clock flash 12:01am. He felt like an idiot when he realised that he hadn't even thought about what he was going to say to her. He had been so caught up in making things right that he impulsively made his way to her without a plan.

She looked at him like he was crazy, and he shifted uncomfortably under her gaze.

"I'm disappointed in you." She said her voice laced with sadness. "Was what I said to you the other day just a joke? I made myself vulnerable and trusted you with my feelings, and all you did was stomp all over them with your stupid fangirls." Her jealousy was showing and she hated it. Atsumu would normally find it adorable, but he knew now wasn't the time for that.

He immediately felt terrible as he realised how badly his actions had affected her, how his jealously had affected her and he hated what he had done. He had outright messed with her feelings knowing exactly how she felt and deep down knowing that it would probably hurt her.

He quickly moved to crouch in front of her, his hands on her knees.

"No! I'm no tryin' to mess with ya! I meant what I said, every last word. Yer not just some random girl to me. I care about ya so damn much Zume-chan." His chest hurt as he still saw the pain in her eyes. It was his fault and he hated it.

"Then why did you do what you did?" She questioned. He rubbed his head sheepishly. He knew what he did was childish, and he felt embarrassed, but he would tell her everything because he cared.

"Honestly, I was jealous of Suna. Ya always spend so much time with him and I... I guess I..."

"So, you wanted to make me jealous? That's rather petty of you Tsumi." She sighed jokingly and he breathed out a breath of relief, seeing her usual self starting to peak out.

"says you! Getting jealous of my fans and everythin'." He huffs.

"That's different." She tries to reason.

"Why didn't you just come with us then?" She asks. "You know me and Rin are just friends? He was the first person I met here in Hyogo."

"I know that but I just- I don't even know. I like ya so much that I can't even stand seein' ya with another guy, even if it is just Suna." He said honestly. Even just the thought of it had him clenching his fists.
