A P R I L
In class Suzume waited for the boys to choose their seats before sitting on the opposite side of Suna so he was in the middle of the three. Sure, call it childish, but she couldn't help it. Atsumu wasn't happy about it, but he couldn't say anything at that point.
"So, what are you doing after school?" Suna asked, turning his attention to the olive eyed girl.
"Practice."
"But there's no practice first day back?" Atsumu chimed in and she shrugged.
"I'm going to go anyway, I need it." She stated and Suna scoffed making Atsumu look at him.
"No, you don't. You had plenty over the break." The green eyed boy deadpanned, a slight authoritative tone to his voice.
Atsumu's brain thought back to the holidays and he remembered seeing Instagram posts of the two together. Suna had obviously gone to Miyagi with her for the second week and that had pissed the blonde off more than he would care to admit. But there wasn't anything he could do about it. He had lost that right the minute she had dumped him.
"Well, you can always join me you know?" She offered with a shrug of her eyebrows.
"Solid pass, your idea of training is way too hardcore, and I need a nap after today." He yawned already looking bored.
"The day literally just started!" She exclaimed and he shrugged. "Tch, lazy bones."
Atsumu wanted to train with her but for some reason, cats still got his tongue. He was afraid that if he opened his mouth, he'd ruin everything again. Not that anything had even been resolved yet.
After school Atsumu headed to the gym to see Suzume because he just couldn't stand not being near her for a moment longer and his frustration of that was getting the better of him.
He missed her so much when she was in Miyagi that he hardly knew what to do with himself. Every night he was restless especially those nights that he scrolled through social media.
- Flashback -
Over the holidays before entering their third year, Suna had been alone for the holidays, so Suzume invited him to Miyagi. He was too lazy to go at first, but by the second week, she had managed to drag him out for the week.
She brought him along to a game against her brother and Tendou. The two siblings were of course competitive, but so were the middles. Surprisingly, they got along well as mates.
Eventually Iwaizumi and Oikawa joined the game, regardless of the fact Oikawa didn't like a certain Shiratorizawa Ace. But Suzume was there so that's why he could deal with it. She introduced Suna to the two.
"Is this your new boyfriend Ushi-chan?" He questioned. Suna was clearly taller, but that didn't stop the chocolate eyed boy from getting up in Suna's face who only quirked a brow at the sight of him trying to act intimidating.
"Lay off Tooru, he's my bestie." She chimed poking her tongue out at him and he gasped horrified.
"How dare you! I'm your bestie!"
"I'm Iwaizumi Hajime, that dork over there is Oikawa Tooru, nice to meet you." Iwaizumi introduced himself and Suna offered a small smile. Oikawa had already chased Suzume off in an attempt to get her to admit she like him better while the other two just ignored them.
"Suna Rintaro, likewise." He shook Iwaizumi's hand, then they made their way over to the others.
"Well, I like this one a lot more than Mr Perfect." Oikawa sassed as he bumped the dark haired girl's hip.
