... The Next Day ...
It was a Friday, the Friday before the day of selections for the girls' volleyball team would be formed. Suzume was buzzing with excitement that she could barely contain herself.
'One more sleep'. She told herself.
She wasn't even paying attention in class. She and Suzuya were planning on staying late after school, but they weren't going to overdo it.
The olive eyed girl looked at the clock for the millionth time '2 more minutes till practice'.
Atsumu couldn't help but notice her excitement and a stupid smile sat lazily on his face.
When the bell finally rang, she bolted for the door, but not before a larger hand gripped her own, pulling her to a stop.
"Huh? Oh Tsumi? What's up?" She asked as she tried to pull him along, but he wouldn't budge.
"Ya got selection tomorrow, right?" He dragged the end of his sentence, and she knew where he was going with it.
"Yes... todays the last day for training so I gotta go." She went to pull away again, but he stopped her once more and she sighed.
"Yer not gonna overdo it and stay late... right?" He again dragged the end of his sentence, and she couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"What are you, my mother?" She giggled and Atsumu raised an amused brow at the eager girl, still not letting go and she pouted.
"Come on Tsumi!" She begged but instead he slung his arm over her shoulder as they started making their way towards the gym together.
"I got an idea."
"What is it?" the 5 ft 7 girl asked, curiosity shinning in her eyes. The boy brought his face impossibly close to hers and she blushed furiously at their proximity. He simply held up two fingers as he smirked at the shorter girl.
"How about a two on two?"
Suzume and Suzuya stood on one side of the net while Atsumu and Osamu stood on the other. The game was in full swing and both sides had brought a certain intensity that was unmatched.
It was an impressive game and they had some impressive rallies over the hour they had already been playing. To say they challenged each other was an understatement.
The girls had relentlessly been practicing their new quicks. They hadn't managed to get them down solid, in fact, they were still making mistakes, but they had also managed to get some of them perfect which impressed the boys.
However, in the end the boys managed to win which left Suzume feeling a little deflated. She was unfortunately, a sore loser. Although, more often than not she kept it to herself, internally pouting and what not.
'Don't let it get you down, its great practice to be able to play with these boys.' She told herself. She knew they were both amazing, so it was one of the best ideas she had ever agreed to. She was thankful that Atsumu had come up with the idea.
Maybe they would do it more often, who knows?
"Yer both tougher than I thought." Atsumu huffed between breaths with Osamu nodding in agreement.
"Thanks, you guys were, well, I knew you two were good, but you were even better than expected." Suzume admitted causing the two to smirk and fist bump.
"How about we switch it up? Zume-chan, come on my team." Atsumu suggested while Suzuya's eyes widened.
"Hey! What makes you think you can steal my lefty?" The light-haired girl pouts causing Atsumu to snicker.
