(Here and Now) Is love worth it

Part 2

Zander wakes up:

I woke up and looked around, my father is sitting in a chair  asleep with a book in his hand, I realized I'm in a hospital but why am I here. I just stared at my father with that book in his hand, he would read to me after mom died but again why am I here.

Father opened his eyes and looked at me, he jumped out of the chair and said I'm awake thank God, he hugged me and cried. Father why am I here?

Son you don't remember, he looked at me and said no all he remembers is leaving his moms grave and coming back to Savannah, he did remember talking to Jasper or was that a dream. I told him no it wasn't a dream he did talk to Jasper, and there friends again you really don't know why you're here?  Zander said no, did he have an accident or something I told him yes but he's going to be alright,  I pressed the button and the nurse responded, I say yes my son is awake, she said someone will be in to check him out.

Zander said whatever  happened to him he's glad I'm here, he acted as if he didn't remember that we haven't spoken in over a year. Son I'm glad I'm here too we have a lot to talk about, and I was wrong to put Alexis over you and that won't happen again.

Father when did you put her over me?

Son there's a lot you don't remember, but right now that can wait, the nurse and doctor came in and said look whose awake, while they checked my boy out I stepped out of the room and called Jasper, he answered right away and said any news on Zander.

I told him yes the best news he's awake, he said thank God he's on his way, I told him before he comes he minus well know Zander doesn't remember what happened with him and Mark. 

Jasper asked does he remember him, I told him yes so he has nothing to worry about he said he won't say anything about Mark or my wife, and he's on his way I hung up I just hope when my boy does remember he'll forgive me.

I went back into the room and the doctor said it looks like Zander will make a full recovery, the nurse said someone will come in and help him with a shower. I walked out the room with the doctor and told him how Zander doesn't remember what happened to him, he said give it time he will, I told him that's what I'm afraid of. I went back into the room and the nurse left, Zander told me to read to him like when he was a kid, I sat down and read to my boy, I told him I love him, he said he loves me too. 

Oh  I called Jasper he's on his way, he said good he wants to see him but he heard someone else in the room too when he heard Jaspers voice, but he couldn't make it out. I told him that was Jasmine does he remember her, he said he's only seen pictures of her. 

I told him she's beautiful and he'll finally meet her, I read to him and he looked like a little kid again if only we could turn back time. Teresa came into the room she looked over at Zander and said her prayers have been answered, Zander said hi to her but she didn't bring any of her muffins, she said next time she comes she will.

I told her I'm glad she came and its good to see her, Zander said why did I say that as if I haven't seen Teresa sense we live in the same house, I told him Teresa doesn't work for me anymore she works for Jasper now,  he needed someone to help with Jasmine as much as I hated for her to go they needed her. And I was going to close up the house and move back to Paris, so at the time it worked out, but I have to be here with him, Zander said thanks for not going. He told Teresa she'll like working for Jasper he knows she didn't like working in my house while Mark is there, she looked at me.

I told Zander Mark doesn't live there anymore, Teresa said she better get going she has some shopping to do and she'll make him some muffins, and she's glad he's okay she left, I told Zander I'll be right back.  I left the room and caught up with Teresa, I told her how Zander doesn't remember what happened that day, she asked will he ever remember, I told her yes but for now we have to let him remember on his own. She said okay and she won't say anything, I gave her some cash to get Zander some personal things, she said she can do that and Teresa left, and I went back into the room.
